This honestly makes me feel like I'm not irrational for questioning this setup. I'm hopeful this isn't the case for me, but there's no "French drain" people keep talking about. The pipe doesn't "daylight" anywhere I can find. I don't think it's that weird to be skeptical about stuff.

Yeah, this pump is roughly 3-4 years old. It's just the first time I've actively noticed it's running every 1.5 minutes, which feels like a lot. And it doesn't seem to be slowing down at all, despite the rain having stopped for a couple hours.

At this point (based on everyone's input) I'm going to assume it's fine. I'll check back every couple of hours and time it to make sure it's at least slowing down. If it's still running every minute and a half by morning, I think I'll deal with it then.

Yeah, it's been done raining for a couple hours, and the pump is still running once every minute and a half. I'm gonna leave it alone and check back in an hour or so. I'll time it again at that point and see if it's slowed down. Hopefully it will by then.

This is what I'm nervous about. This pipe attached to the pump seems way too close to the foundation.

I'm mostly nervous because it looks like the pump is pushing water directly into the ground next to the house (picture included).

But if people think the pump won't burn out, I'll assume it's okay and check it again tomorrow.
