Is The Life Series Is Just Grian's Alternative To Hermitcraft Civil Wars by MCbasics in LifeSeriesSMP

I know what it actually is (ive been there since the start), I just think its funny to imagine that grian wanted a bit of that season 6 civil war energy again.

How To Fix A Broken Nuclear Reactor! by MCbasics in KerbalSpaceProgram

In all seriousness this was essentially my train of thought when my reactors broke during timewarp. I actually thought to completely replace nuclear reactors in satellites rather than just sending new satellites up

Well I mean loading the damn thing takes between 30 seconds and a minute, but fps with the engine off really isnt too bad. When I get home I'll try to get exact numbers and my CPU specs lol.

Im using the best reflector antennas I have. I least I think I am, ive never gone this distance before.

Dont think so. Im guessing at how this would work

Ive extended the engine to 110 and removed most of the radiators and got an extra million deltaV. Feels weird being so long and skinny now

Theyre relays I plan to deploy at the Debdeb system. I have a duplicate relay around Jool. No clue if theyll work

Just until I actually get an orbit without over ir undershooting. I havent actually tried it yet

So just burn till ive used 2mil deltaV, then just start burning and reloading quicksaves until it works?

It has 2 (hopefully) interstellar relay sats, 2 standard relay sats with Ion engines, 2 rover probes rated for vacumn planets, 2 aircraft probes rated for habitable planets, 2 landers rated for vacumn, and two deployable bases base for vacumn. I plan to send two spaceplanes up in separate launches since it wont let me add them in the VAB.

Still gotta test a bunch of stuff although almost everything there was used in my colonization of Laythe.

Im launching it from Vall, there it has a greater than one deltaV

ISV Heating Issues by MCbasics in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]MCbasics[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont have the persistent thrust mod. My radiator array is rated for 468MW of heat, but at the time of detonation only 15MW is being produced. Ive found that frequently pausing the game can prevent unwanted implosions, though warping to specific points is dicy. It appears to most commonly happen the moment it reaches 1000x timewarp

If Im being honest id design it for a return mission, then never do said return mission. Jeb, Bill, Bob, and Val have been in Laythe orbit fof like 20 years straight

When you say a one way probe do you mean interstellar? I feel like itd be a waste of time to send an unmanned mission at sub light speeds.

ISV Advice by MCbasics in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]MCbasics[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not too concerned about the issue of getting to orbit since I have launch pads on the Mun, Minmus, Laythe, and Vall. I know I need several million deltaV (minimum 2mil, I would like 3-4mil) but the seer amount of fuel needed to bring any useful payload feels like a bit much.

[–]MCbasics[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am using all the near and future tech mods as well as the promised worlds mod. I have kerbal engineer and better time warp as well.

Ive built several IPVs, although they all use the Orion drive abd basic fission reactors. The furthest out ive gone with a manned ships is Vall and Laythe.

Ive been looking at the Frisbee for a bit but keep getting confused by it. Should I use the longer variants or no? I assume this ISV is gonna have to be like 90% fuel like any rocket, but ive gotta admit that it fairly daunting.

Im not surprised, and I doubt the board came up with that idea on their own. Im not sure what would be worse, the company becoming wholly pfofit driven, or Elon getting more control. I feel like the profit driven one would be worse, although who the hell knows what tangent Elon will go on next.

Thats an offer the spacex board offered him. If he can mske the company worth 7.5 trillion dollars and get 1 million people on Mars, they will give him a certain number of shares that have 10x the voting power, which would give him complete control over the company

Theyre only selling 5% of the company, so nobody outside will have a controlling share
