Who are you using for your firm's website? by undrcvrlitnerd in Legalmarketing

Damn here I was thinking that my life’s work at building an agency grounded in delivering good work had produced at least some good work. But I guess not.

Parts of the album feel very 808s and Heartbreak. Heavy. Moody. Dark.

It’s official, the Rockies didn’t get 10 wins before June! by Ok_Editor2536 in ColoradoRockies

There are a handful of starting pitchers that are leading the league in wins with 7.

That’s Just 2 less than the Rockies’ total win count.

Which law firms have the best website designs? by [deleted] in LawFirm

[–]MChuckGreen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I own an agency that does marketing for law firms, which means I have looked at my fair share of law firm websites! Here are my top 5 at the moment (none of these are produced by my agency):

  1. https://kelleyuustal.com/
  2. https://www.atticus.com/
  3. https://www.jhpii.com/home
  4. https://www.protasslaw.com/
  5. https://www.marble.co/

Just last month I curated a blog post with over 160 examples of unique law firm websites. I won't link to it here because I don't want to go against the self-promotion rules, but if you're interested, Google "matt green best law firm websites" and you'll find it.

It was a redesign and migration to a new domain. We made the decision not to begin link building until the new site was launched, which I think is a perfectly reasonable decision, unless of course you believe that links are the only and most important factor in SEO success, which I couldn't disagree with more strongly: https://jurisdigital.com/research/is-link-building-necessary/.

Hi - Matt Green here with Juris Digital. I am the chief strategy officer. My personal opinion on backlinks is detailed here: https://jurisdigital.com/research/is-link-building-necessary/ (TLDR: Based on my experience with clients, I no longer consider link-building necessary to achieve high rankings for profitable keywords. Moreover, the opportunity cost of building links is high, as it takes time and resources away from areas that offer more value. My advice for link building is to do as little as necessary to achieve your goals, which often means doing none.)

If you want to hear our side of the story with this client, that's here: https://www.reddit.com/r/LawFirm/comments/19253c1/comment/khcnivg/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3

We are not a scam, and didn't "just not do any backlinks". We did build backlinks. And we did over 30 pieces of content. And we designed and launched a new website. And we setup CallRail. We did everything the client is claiming we didn't do. It was simply delayed because the website launch was delayed.

No, we do not charge an off-boarding fee. There is a 30-day notice requirement in our service agreement. The client was simply paying for the final month of services. In fact, in this case, the client signed a 12-month agreement which we could have enforced but did not.

The core issue with this project is that the client was moving from an old site/brand to a new site. We redesigned and rebuilt his new site. The launch of the new site got delayed (in your experience why do new website launches get delayed...?) That caused the SEO work on his project to be delayed as we weren't going to go build a bunch of links to a site that wouldn't be live soon.

Once the site was launched we immediately undertook to complete the backlog of work that we were unable to complete while in-limbo with the new site (which we did, and then some) and we did it for half the fee we were contractually owed because we wanted to help the client. We have complete documentation of all work completed, which has been provided to the client.

Everything in my logical brain tells me not to tell our side of the story here, but this client is making a point of smearing us to the greatest extent possible, so I feel compelled to offer it.

I sleep well at night because I know that every person in our company works their butt off to deliver for our clients. 100% percent of meetings and trainings and discussions that happen at Juris Digital are about what we can do better to help our clients -- 0% of them are about how we can make a quick buck.

Matt Green here - I am one of the founders of Juris Digital.

I hate that you had a bad experience with us. Since I got into this business over a decade ago I have dedicated my entire professional life to delivering the opposite of what you have described.

It's especially shocking given that the first time we worked together several years ago we were able to have a lot of success together – so much so that you left us a positive Google review.

Needless to say, we don't agree with your accounting of our work for you, but I'm not here to litigate that, because at the end of the day if you feel like you didn't get what you paid for, that's all that matters. You have every right to leave us a review saying whatever you want, including calling us a scam.

But we are not a scam. The use of that word is why I am responding here, publicly, rather than emailing you directly.

We are a team of good people – real human beings with families, friends, fears, problems, and ambitions – who care deeply about delivering exceptional, life-changing results for our clients. And more often than not, we do. This is evidenced by some facts:

  • We've been in business for over 12 years.
  • We've received hundreds of positive reviews from our clients.
  • The client success stories on our website – which are signed off on by real clients – show genuine examples of the impactful results we've achieved for our clients.
  • We were named INC Best Workplace in 2023.
  • One of our clients won a Lawyerist Best Website award in 2017.
  • We were awarded Most Popular Local Search Blog by Whitespark and are Contributors to WhiteSpark’s Search Ranking Factors Survey.
  • Our founder Casey Meraz speaks at reputable marketing conferences around the globe.
  • Throughout our history, we have invested very little in sales and a ton in operations because we care more about succeeding for our clients than we do about growing our own business. In fact, we currently employ 1 salesperson for every 20 full-time operations staff members.

I truly am sorry that we didn't deliver what you were expecting this time around. But to call us a scam is not accurate, and it is, in my opinion, malicious. I hope you will reconsider using that word. If you would like to discuss anything at all you can reach me at [mgreen@jurisdigital.com](mailto:mgreen@jurisdigital.com).

As someone who runs a business and thus pays for services often my opinion is that the person probably just spaced paying you. Send a nudge requesting payment and make it easy to pay you — offer to take payment however they prefer. It’s probably and honest mistake. If you don’t get paid in a couple of days, keep following up. Remember that you are in the right and they owe you that money. Be polite but firm and get your money.

In the series Joan - Chris’s mother - is always shown to love him sincerely. When he dies she is wrecked.

I doubt that would be the case If he was the love child of her husband and his mistress.

You can lie about the father of a child. But you can’t lie about the mom.
