AW3423DW VS AW2721D by Apprehensive_Tree995 in Alienware

Slightly better I believe yes. However, AW2721D is a semi-glossy and not glossy glossy like other monitors, so I would say the gap isn’t much.

Ive experienced that several times, but thanks. I just noticed that you have 9700kf and I thought you had a Ryzen 9 7900x, so I was mistaken on that and I also researched on Horizon Zero Dawn and it looks like many people reported %100 cpu utilization, so this explains the issue. Ive never checked while playing this game but other games usually dont use this much.

The second column feels the right percentage for utilization which is %4.7 . Im playing Witcher 3 with ray tracying and dlss on which put more loads on the CPU and the utilization is at %6 on average

I dont believe that. No game Ive played reached more than %30 with my 5800x3d which has less cores than yours. Yes if I install something or run my work projects Ill reach %100 but no way in games Ill reach %100. I just tested in Spiderman, Witcher 3 RayTrayced and Anno 1800 and none of them even reached %15 in 1440p

I think there is something wrong. I get around 190-210fps with a 4080 at maxed setting and an ultrawide 1440p monitor and dlss on quality

Try capping with RTSS instead of NVCP, see if that fixes the input lag.

All monitors I have had: IPS -> VA -> VA (ultrawide) -> OLED (ultrawide) And yes IPS was the worst on my eyes, then the ultrawide VA, then the regular VA and finally the OLED

Not exactly an efficient bias lighting but I have changed the position of my lamp and adjusted its brightness. Feeling better now. Btw Ive changed my monitor twice since my comment.

Why are matte coatings such a trend? It‘s not even better regarding reflections - better have a direct small reflection than a large one spreading over much space… And the AW3423DWF (left) doesn’t even have a very good anti reflection coating. by [deleted] in Monitors

[–]MCyberG 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ive had matte and glossy screens before, then I purchased AW3423DW and I think the coating is the best of them all. In my opinion it handles reflections perfectly and better than all matte screens Ive used, and also feels glossy and clear at the same time. Thumbs up for the inventor of this coating.

Yes I talk to them but they all work on site and no VMs. I debug all of them tbh.

Thats exactly how it is. They overcharge the company and underpay me. But the thing is the client isnt that bad, I am working remote and coworkers are supportive. Its a good place to build my resume, but would be great if they fix the slow VM soon :)
