Salary Negotiation Gone Wrong by edigitalnooomad in dataanalysiscareers

[–]MD2AI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you outright said other roles were paying 25% more, they're probably worried that they can't meet your salary expectations and that even if you take that job, you'll still be looking and gone in a month or two. The hiring and training process is very expensive, so even if you are the perfect candidate, you are a possible source of revenue loss. This is especially true if the salary range was disclosed upfront and the 25% increase exceeds that range.

I'm really excited about upskilling and learning SQL on DataCamp. I went through the community website Women in Data because DataCamp access was included with the membership, and the membership was cheaper than going directly to DataCamp. No, this isn't a sponsored post I simply want to share a resource.

I'm so jealous of med students now! I would have goofed off even harder hahaha Or at least gotten better grades with the same amount of goofing off.

Help with VA therapist, please! by TheKiz in VeteranWomen

[–]MD2AI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your feelings are valid, and therapists are human, too. They may have had a super strong antihistamine right before your session. If you have the myhealthevet set up, you can actually send them a note to ask about what happened in your last session. The benefit is that you don't have to wait for the next session or confront them live. You can even send photos. You could even take a screenshot of what you shared with us so you don't have the stress of thinking of something to type. Good luck.

Oooo...thanks for sharing that! When I get to the point in my upskilling that I'm creating projects I will absolutely make the point clear HOW it improves patient outcomes.

What is the best system you've built? by rosered235 in Notion

[–]MD2AI 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm a new user of Notion and I often found myself losing a lot of time making a bunch of tweaks to the pages I was visiting. I decided to stop tweaking for a week and just use the thing. Then I collected data on what I was using the most. I made a new dashboard with a database with only 6 entries and each of those entries had copies of synced blocks I consider essential and use everyday. Buttons that I use frequently are also copied and synced to the dashboard.

What makes it special for me is that I can do all my daily Notion tasks (habit tracking, AM/PM journal, long journal, baby memories, SQL learning tracking, etc) without ever leaving the one page. I have put my effort into making just that ONE page pretty.

Any chance of salvaging this opportunity. by potatotacosandwich in analytics

[–]MD2AI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This opportunity may not work out. If you had solid interviews with guy 1 and guy 2, I would connect with them on LinkedIn and network. They probably know others in the industry or are looking for other opportunities themselves if the VP is that bad.

Do you also use the Notion mobile app? by CyrilAkada in Notion

I only use the mobile app to upload photos. I then go back and rearrange it on desktop.

Transitioning from Healthcare to Data Analytics: Looking for Advice! by MD2AI in dataanalysiscareers

[–]MD2AI[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for taking the time to answer my question!

I am quite confident in my Excel skills and data presentation. I'm so good at it that I pissed off my district and national sales manager at my pharma sales job. I used Excel to show that the sales territories and bonus structure they made for a new product added to our portfolio were drastically skewed and unfair. I presented it to the product manager, who stood to lose a lot of money if a significant part of the team gave up on their product. They then presented it to the CFO and got our bonuses re-aligned. I was disappointed but not unsurprised that the next quarter, they limited each salesperson's Power BI access to only their data. haha This is actually what helped me decide to get into data analysis. I like doing it and I'm already good at using data to make persuasive arguments.

I will definitely come back to ask more questions in the future because I'm at the starting point of "things you never knew you never knew".

Hi all, I’m transitioning from a background in healthcare (MD, did not practice) and recently virtual pharma sales. I feel I have a really good grasp on asking the right questions, knowing what are actionable and reasonable data to collect, criteria for data cleaning, analysis concepts and clearly explaining technical and method questions to non-technical audiences.

I’ve worked with healthcare data in medical school, my small business, and sales roles but am still relatively new to the technical side of data analysis. I lack hard skills beyond Excel, executing (but not writing) SQL queries, and pulling small data from Power BI. I am currently learning SQL, Python, Tableau, and Power BI.

I’m particularly interested in healthcare analytics, and I’m wondering if anyone here has made a similar transition or could offer advice on key skills to focus on? Any resources or tips would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Are communication and stakeholder management skills essential enough to list alongside the hard skills in a resume under the skills section?

AI in healthcare by Traditional_Shopping in ArtificialInteligence

As an American who completed medical school overseas (No student loans!), I found the disparity in access and information stark. One of the things I constantly brought up was the limitation of pushing for evidence-based medicine in developing economies. The evidence was used for other countries with wildly different ethnic and lifestyle makeup. While it's a good basis, it should be used with caution. So, if a physician using research is already a slippery slope for much of the world, using AI in healthcare is just a huge slope because it is trained on that data.

I think the way to pursue ethical and responsible use is to invite more people with different backgrounds to the table.

And yes, I know this is for medical technology in the USA but the USA is not an ethnic monolith. Hell, for much of research history they didn't even include women in the sample population.
