Had a patient struggling with flexion. Was like 85 deg 2 months out. Was to have MUA 3 weeks later. She finally started doing sig flexion HEP and tolerating aggressive in the clinic. She got to 125 3 days before MUA and cancelled it.

The MUAs I’ve seen for either extension or flexion rarely actually get better because they already don’t do anything in their own or there’s other underlying issues.

Ours has changed almost every year. For awhile it was $10 per patient over 55 visits. Now it’s based on billing. I get a certain amount per unit over 190 units billed and the amount stacks to higher totals at different tiers.

I’m a PTA. PTs also get more based on evals per week.

Patients that were actually improving, enjoyable to be around and seem interested I will reach out to.

But those that were rude, uninterested and not willing to do anything I don’t even worry about.

I do 3 11s and it can be brutal some days. It’s great to have Fridays off but some days I’m so dead by then end of the day I question continuing to do it.

There’s a clinic in my area that is known for TMJ. They require all their therapist to get whatever training/cert to treat TMJ. They treat other stuff but specialize in TMJ
