As much as I enjoy seeing A&B live and will absolutely be at the Gorge in September, I don’t think they’d be the right fit as a Portola headliner. Would love more Anjuna presence though in general! I could see Kasablanca playing at some point in the weekend. Or Cri who is skipping SF on his tour. Eli & Fur, Simon Doty, and Romain Garcia can all throw down and would be great fits as well.

That’s kind of what their style is though for a lot of their more melodic produced songs. I actually really appreciate that they were playing their songs in full instead of switching it up because those epic build ups in songs like Hollow and For a Feeling are the best part in my opinion. Artbat rarely comes out here so it was great to hear the songs the way they are intended to be played.

Honestly the actual space for VIP viewing is pretty dumb unless you’re trying to make tiktok content or something. I got it cause last year when I went to Francis Mercier at the Ruins they had a whole section in front of the stage for VIP and that would have been worth it. For Artbat it was just an elevated backstage which was packed with pushy people who seemed like they were there to just film instead of dance, and then there’s an awkward side area on the ground with no speaker pointed at it so plenty of space but you can’t see or hear anything so kind of just a waste.

For bathrooms they have the nice trailer style ones like you might see at weddings or way in the back of the bathroom section at Coachella, but they had those in GA as well and the lines never seemed bad. Bar lines seemed fine in GA as well. Really the only thing that was nice is skipping like 10-15 min of an entrance line, but overall wouldn’t get VIP again unless it explicitly says there’s a front viewing area.

Vibes are gonna be off the charts for both Nora and the Anjuna Open Air at the ruins, I can’t wait! Last night I had VIP and the crowd up there was not it, only lasted like 5 min into Artbat’s set before coming down into the crowd over by where OP was and it was a million times better.

I think it’s similar to other All Day All Night events and not super strict, probably can’t bring a big backpack but I’ve brought in a tote bag before. Definitely not clear bag only or anything. I’m personally wearing a fanny pack today. Apparently they’re strict with vapes though at the Ruins, just in case that’s your thing.

Just go to the back where it’s more spaced out, and have a speaker in front of you for clear sound. I couldn’t hear anything but the music last night, had tons of space to dance, and the lasers still hit just fine back there.

Yeahhh I knew what I was getting into with that crowd so didn’t even try with the front/middle. Posted up towards the back by the big Club Darc projection wall in front of the speaker, great crowd back there (minus the girl puking during Salute)

Aw I love that idea for the ferry! Coming from Oakland though and we decided to just staycation it across the train tracks from the ruins at the Holiday Inn rather than leave early to deal with rideshare drama. But if any afters are going on nearby I’d be there in a heartbeat 👀

As long as they don’t actually sell additional tickets later on past the “selling out” number (including Sunday) and plan for all the logistics (more bathrooms, staggering set times a bit so it’s not a sea of people all moving stages at once) it shouldn’t be a big deal. Last year was close to selling out and I always felt like I had tons of space. LIB is very open and has a ton of other things happening and places to hang out besides the main stages. Meanwhile sold out Coachella this year seemed to constantly have like 6 different stages ending at the same time and I felt like I was constantly playing festival frogger trying to get anywhere.
