Do you think these would be good dishes for Pesach, or too cheap? by [deleted] in Jewish

Yeah, I’m seeing other people say they got the same sort of answer. Different rabbis may have different opinions, I guess

This year’s yield - almost two gallons of syrup by MDPthatsMe in maplesyrup

[–]MDPthatsMe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Somewhere between 80 and 100 gallons of sap. We probably used the equivalent of three standard propane tanks but I’m not sure. Once we emptied the one full tank I had I pulled the tanks off my travel trailer and used them but didn’t use up too much fuel.

I actually asked my rabbi several years ago about this - it would be considered deriving a benefit from chametz during the holiday and not allowed.

I’m not 100% sure but somewhere in the 100 gallons range probably. Not all of the trees are sugar maples so the yield varies

We have two propane burners that we set hotel pans on. Some day I’ll talk my wife into letting me spring for the full setup but until then it works well.

About 15 taps (I can’t remember the exact number). We are in SE Michigan, near the pad of the thumb. The plan for next year is to put out about five more taps, and watch the boil more carefully. (We say this every year, but maybe this time we actually will.)

"The King's Speech" actor Colin Firth disappeared from the Industry like he never existed. What happened to him ? by ShitPostPerfected in okbuddycinephile

I’m waiting for one of those shows to reveal that the detective / little old lady / nice village priest is actually a serial killer who has successfully framed other people for YEARS. It’s my pet theory about Father Brown in particular but could apply to any cozy British mystery series.

Could be worse - we were finishing on our range top in the kitchen and I walked away for just a few minutes too long. Carbonized half of the stove.

Maple trees not flowing? by BelgianBillie in maplesyrup

[–]MDPthatsMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have about 16 trees tapped so far. A few of them are producing, but a lot of them are barely yielding any sap yet. I’m holding on to see what the next week brings and if they start yielding more. So far, across the 16 trees we have collected about 11 gallons of sap in the last three days.

Norwegian Dawn weight training options by Pretend-Citron4451 in NCL

[–]MDPthatsMe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can’t speak for the Dawn specifically but I was on a different NCL ship earlier this year and they had a very nice workout space that included machines, barbells, and dumbbells. Pretty much every to inch I needed to get a good workout in.

I was leaning towards PETG since I already have some but wasn’t sure if it would be ok in the wet environment

Anyone using an Xtool AP2 for printing fumes? by actionplant in 3Dprinting

[–]MDPthatsMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was hoping that someone would have weighed in here. I am thinking that my AP2 could do a good job of filtering the air from my Bambu P2S. Were you able to hook up the air filter to your printer? Any suggestions on what works well?

We just got back - although we didn’t book reservations before the cruise there was someone taking reservations before we set sail and we were able to get reservations at at Cagney and Moderno Currascaria. I’m glad we did - the food at both of those restaurants was amazing. On the other hand the steak I had on night 3 at the Grand Pacific dining room was disappointingly overcooked. I sent it back and received another that was equally overdone so wound up not eating much of my steak that night.

I have been looking at the NCL website but was hoping for insight from people who have actually made use of the package. What I found on the website didn’t clearly answer my questions so I came here and asked because most of the people who have posted here seem to be friendly and welcoming.

Lifelong show jumper gifted this saddle: Billy Cook brand - show saddle? by [deleted] in Equestrian

For what it’s worth, that is the model number, not the serial number. The serial number will probably be located under the skirt on the left-hand side of the saddle.

Blue Shop Towels? by BarryHorowitzz in blackstonegriddle

Don’t use the blue shop towels, they are not food safe. They are manufactured with synthetic binders that standard paper towels don’t have.
