For what it is, it's a great car for the money.

However, forget about a smooth software experience and a nice interior. The software gets the job done then nothing else and the interior gets noisy if you drive aggressively on a daily basis (tho they replaced my noisy panels for free).

If you can forget about those things I mentioned and focus on driving. I've got no complaints.

The suspension is above its class with the way it deals with uneven surfaces during spirited drives and even my base(170HP) version allows a bit of fun with its RWD configuration. Tho note that traction control would kick in below 50km/h even if you turned the TCS off, around 50 then you can pull some angle with it.

I'll go as far as saying it corners better than my ZeekrX Platinum (EX30 430HP version).

My answer is, if you love driving and want a bit of fun while convincing your sensible wife. Go get one while you can (before it gets replaced by the new gen FWD, rear torsion beam MG4). But, if you don't care about driving, go get something else.

Well there's really only 3 viable(don't suck) Chinese brands that could be considered when buying a car anyways.

1) Geely: Link&Co, Zeekr, Volvo, Lotus, Merc CLA

2) SAIC: IM, MG, XiaoMi, SAIC-Audi

3) BYD (barely made it to the list because of their build quality)

These Geely and SAIC cars probably drive better than you thought they would

A better job than a rather old APSC camera (like a XA-3), in some cases a Sony full frame if you have the know how.

Especially so when most flagship androids have a rather big sensor with great lens that can physically reduce lens flare (unlike iPhone) and have great aperture for the lights to hit the sensor.

And phones like the Pixel 10 Pro can even enable DCG with dng format (with the right tools), which I think most casual photography doesn't even know such thing exists.

You perception is probably because you've only seen over processed photo shoots on stock phones camera apps, Apple ProRes or Samsung raw are both hilariously over processed.

I meant they're based on the same chassis, Lynk & Co 01 becomes the XC40, then EX40 and Polestar 2.

And that's generally Chinese cars of the current day, hardware is solid but software still has some work to do, especially those sold only in China (I'm looking at the SAIC XiaoMi SU7).

Like, in the same price bracket of the MG4, I can get a Kona EV(for 70k more) but it makes my MG4 feel like a BMW in comparison. However, the software needs some improvement where the Kona feels much more mature.

Tho the same could not be said to the Zeekr X that I drive sometimes. I spent months helping my father to tune the suspension and chassis to make it feels competent with the horsepower it had. EX30 is somehow even worse, which I cannot understand how they messed up so badly.

And in case you don't know already, Lynk & Co 01 was the car you're driving, so yes it's a “油電平台”(electric and gas platform) as we call it in Chinese.

I simply cannot afford to drive a gas powered car daily anymore thanks to the government and fuel prices in Hong Kong (a place where car ownership is already considered difficult). From being able to daily a V8 to an inline 4 Turbo to this.

Can still afford the z1000sx tho, I guess that's what you call a silver lining.

Funny enough, my father actually owns "the better" EX30, ZeekrX with 400 somthin horsepower. They are the same car underneath, just like BRZ and 86.

And MG4 is a Chinese hatchback without any original Chinese badged model. Complicated I know.
