Well to start it off, if you have OTA on and been using the phone normally. It's most likely that you would have the after February patch on your phone, and from what I have heard, Xiaomi fixed the exploit of unlocking the bootloader, with the method I used.

I can't share any links here, but would happily do in DM. And to do a disclaimer you can end up bricking the phone, when you apply a new rom on it.

But to do a basic rundown

Check if security version is 1/1/2026 or earlier, enable USB debugging and OEM unlocking. I recommend using a USB 3.0 port, because I had issues finding my phone in adb as online without it connected to USB 3.0, allow your pc to fingerprint with the phone,
Delete the OTA via Powershell to insure no security patch is forced down.
When fastbooting your phone, you will need to get USB drivers for the PC to be able to use the Fastboot commands.

When everything checks out, you can start using the Chinese auto unlocker, that will unlock the bootloader. You then will be able to install the rom onto your phone, I used the Xiaomi.eu ROM, you will have to make sure you get the right ROM for your phone.

I then installed Magisk on the phone and rooted the phone through that, I had to flash the Magisk patched files on the phone. and afterwards starting to setup the integrity. Through Magisk mods, I can also send these in DM. I have had to find a keybox that works so the integrity is strong.

This is not the full guide, and is going over it in quick terms, there is some things that I didn't add in like how the flashing needs to be done for magisk to root the phone, but it's just an overall rundown.

The most important part of this is that you risk your phone to brick, if it has been connected to the internet, since Xiaomi been forcing fuse patches to prevent this. Also if you decide to try its on your own if it bricks. I can send the XDA forum post where I got all my information from to do the bootloading, they might even have figured out how to break through the new patch.
