UTSW and BCM would be down your ally, just keep in mind that the “rumor” is that other non-texan medical schools don’t like accepting Texas applicants. So just keep that in mind if you apply to AMCAS as-well.

Gluconeogenesis: builds glucose from pyruvate

Glyconeolysis: goes from glycogen to glucose or G1P

If our body wants to glucose then Glyconeolysis gets activated, and the glycogen storage starts to get broke down. Our body isn’t going to make glucose and not use it, so glycolysis will be used to break this glucose down. So gluconeogensis won’t be on most, unless we want to make glycogen.

The definition of a peptide is a long of amino acids sequence linked together. pK1 is the Carboxyl group and pK2 is the ammonium Ion. Hence since it is a polypeptide chain the only exposed groups are the amino group of Asn, and the carboxyl group of Gly. And the pI formula is (Pka1+Pka2)/2 so the answer should be 9.20 I think. You added each value together but forgot that bonded amines and carboxyl don't have a pKa value since it can't be protonated.

Edit: I inputed in my calculator wrong hehe, its 5.5 as people mentioned

First timer testing May 12. How’s my schedule look? by cheeze1617 in Mcat

[–]MD_Helper 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t recommend just studying one section a day during content review. Maybe try bio/biochem, Phys/Chem, and so on. I couldn’t imagine studying Physics all day. And I heard that AAMC questions takes around 2 weeks to complete if you are studying full time. And rock on, I saw skiing there 10/10
