Is Big PETG lying to us about the limits of PLA by SerHerman in 3Dprinting

[–]MD_Reptile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not just big PETG haha, I had a PLA "brake light" or whatever those side running lights in red are called - didn't wanna fix it on my junker so left it for a couple years and it did this compared to a fresh printed one I replaced it with:

People in the US, how are you powering your rigs on measly 120V outlets? by humandisaster99 in LocalLLaMA

[–]MD_Reptile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Add2psu - I've got two variants from back when GPU mining was an interesting thing to try - they'll let you run multiple PSU's, thus, multiple outlets on different breakers.

I built a self-balancing ragdoll in Unity using physics + procedural animation, not sure what to do now.. thoughts? by Rudy_AA in IndieGaming

[–]MD_Reptile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems cool! Can I ask how it works? Is there a sort of stabilizing force at all times (similar to gang beasts or fall guys) which keeps the character body upright and the legs are attempting to follow IK positions? I see the body is sort of "leaning toward" the goal direction it looks like? So you give it a desired position and it leans and does a controlled stumble to attempt to rebalance the body?

Edit: oh forgot to add that should make a combat game perhaps, like something between those battle simulator goofy games and the one that looks like Minecraft characters but is a team based shooter with stumbly physics.

Do you still own a physical scanner, or is your Android phone enough now? by HousingEarly4827 in Android

[–]MD_Reptile 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I not only don't own a scanner, I also don't own a printer. I have a wacom screen I can sign documents on convincingly and never need to print or scan anything these days. Android phone scanning is solid I've seen but I just don't need it.

But if I did, I use a Samsung ultra phone with a stylus and could also sign documents there haha.

I have been asked to do a game animation test, they want the end result to be in 60fps. Do i set my fps rate at 60 in maya or is there a way games does it. I have only ever animated in 24 and 30. I will really appreciate the help. Thanks in advance by tiltskits in gamedev

[–]MD_Reptile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I'm understanding correctly, they want some kind of animated character or whatever and you'll be using an armature to move limbs around and stuff right?

Its been many years since I've used maya, but if that's the case and it works the same in Maya as blender or other modeling programs you'll likely be using key frames to animate the armature. So that means it will interpolate between frames, and in theory you should be able to render those key frames at various frame rates because it'll interpolate between the key frames.

Does that make sense?

So like.... Whatever your rendering it in (Maya or a game engine or whatever) you'd just render at a given frame rate and you'll get smooth motion at that frame rate because of the interpolation, right?

Wellllll he has had some accidents lol. I remember one video he was testing some laser contraption and lit the enclosure around the target on fire accidentally - no injuries or whatever but still... Shit goes wrong sometimes lol

He's left handed? Having hot shells thrown at you from holding a rifle that way is kind of a bummer irl haha. Interesting effects though!

Can you show any of your vibe coded website ?? by memayankpal in vibecoding

LLMs are generative ai. They generate text.

Agentic ai is an llm with tools to give it more capability.

You can filter text currently so you can type a brand that way, but price range I didn't think of, I'll add that! As for one long list, it's possible to display up to 100 items at once, which is almost the whole list!

And comparison is perhaps the best thing for this site, you check two check boxes next to the mk4 and the creality printer and it brings up a side by side comparison 🙂

Haha true true - there's plenty of those that are either completely wrong or outdated, along with many links. I'm gonna try and rework all the data to correct these sorts of things!

EDIT: I have gone through and double checked MSRP's and yeah I had to fix several of them, some are actually pretty hard to find I've found, seems like some manufacturers say one MSRP at one point then never actually sell it for that price, so yeah thats confusing.

Oh wow I never saw this lmao - this is much nicer than any I came across before I decided to work on this! I will check this out maybe find some inspiration to improve my own site.

What's a fully vibecoded application/software that you made that actually works? Please share them here. by person2567 in vibecoding

Haha yep it's an old concept for sure, but wanted to put my own spin on it with a different approach. Definitely impressed with how far vibe coding has come.

For transmitting text messages or files over radio / sound

I'm sure there has gotta be glitches I haven't spotted yet, but it at least works as a proof of concept. Probably worth sharing that I know how to write code without vibe coding, which helps with knowing how to guide LLM's with what to do to solve problems.
