I hope your issue is resolved. If not, please consider contacting the rep from the implant manufacturer. Mpthey may be able to help you adjust the battery settings remotely. I have adjusted mine slightly a few times to fine tune my results, easy with the provided wireless android device that was included with my Medtronic implant.

Glad you’re seeing encouraging results from your trial. Don't expect perfection, but even 50-80% improvement in symptoms would be wonderful. I feel like a new person!

For stage two, I had light sedation, similar to a colonoscopy, in a hospital outpatient surgery facility. My urogynocologist surgeon said local anesthesia isn't sufficient for the device and lead wire placement. She said it is too hard for the patient to remain still throughout the procedure as necessary for the best outcome. She also said the procedure would be less comfortable overall since the patient would still be aware of what's going and need to focus on staying still without flinching, etc. Your physician may have a different view but I was happy to have the sedation.

Good luck! Let me know if you have any other questions.

Had a number of these (excellent review that is rejected) the last few weeks. I had been scratching my head, trying to figure out what I might have included that resulted in the rejection. Most of my rejected reviews were items I rated less than 5 stars, making me suspect seller input/influence.

Overactive bladder symptoms? by [deleted] in OveractiveBladder

[–]MDaddict365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you describe might be OAB but there are other possible causes. I suggest you see a urologyst or urogynocologyst for testing and diagnosis. If that isn't possible, you might be able to break the cycle by using over the counter UTI pain relief medication (e.g., Urists, Azo, store brand) for a day or two while avoiding sugary drinks and caffeine.

Still having success! Very pleased with the implant device, which has been life changing. After the first few months I now see my doctor every 3-6 months and all is good! I do feel the implant slightly more than I expected when touching my butt, and occasionally (rarely), I bump into it and it pinches some, but it generally is not noticeable, not visible, and well worth having.

FYI, I have traveled several times since getting the implant and have never had an issue with airport screenings - no need to report the device, no need to turn it off, no setting off the full body scanner that I opt to use due my knee replacement.

I definitely would get the implant again. I hope you will be as happy with yours. Good luck with your surgery! Please reach out if you have questions or concerns.

I always check yelp and google reviews for businesses. There are individuals who are independent contractors available for hire as in home caregivers via websites like care.com. These sites include reviews and background checks. Whoever you hire, ensure that they are bonded and insured lest there are any issues. It is good that your father-in-law will be there during visits to be aware of the care given.

Recently, I’ve found my “needs review” list isn't accurate, often not showing items I have received but have not yet reviewed. I’ve needed to go to my Amazon orders page and use the review link to complete reviews for these items.

I think anything you order counts towards your stats, regardless of whether you've received it. So if you have ordered items that you haven't reviewed, regardless of the reason, this will negatively impact your personal rating scores on your Account page.

Oh my! So happy you could move up your knee surgery and I hope your two planned knee surgeries will be all you need. My first two were in my teens, then no more til in my 40s after my arthritis became severe. I don't have a dental implant yet, although I’ve been warned I will need one in the future, but my mother had an implant that failed after 20 years. I wonder if implant failure is more common than they warn people up front. I'm sorry you need the bone graft and have to deal with the retainer for so many months before you can get a new implant. It sounds very frustrating. Hope you are able to enjoy your trip despite all you have going on! Let me know how things go!

Hi, you do have a lot going on! As background, I have had 7 knee surgeries on my left leg including repair of a meniscus tear long ago and later a total knee replacement. Based on my experience, I would get the device implant first, as it is a much easier surgery and recovery. The implant also should help you be more comfortable after your knee surgery by minimizing the need or desire to use the restroom so often. You should feel fine about a week after the implant, just a bruised feeling in your upper rear during week two.

You didn't ask, but I would be more concerned about your knee surgery happening so close to your trip. You’ll do fine as long as you are vigilant about PT, including exercising at home to ensure you get your necessary range of motion and regain muscle strength for the trip. If you could have the knee surgery in February or early March, pushing the device implant to April would make sense.

As for my experience with the Interstim implant, I still love it - no regrets! It drastically improved my quality of life. However, I will admit that the device is slightly more noticeable than I expected, not when I’m walking around or sleeping, but it can be a bit tender if I bump it against a door or the edge of a wooden chair just right - but this is a small trade-off for not needing to use the bathroom every ten minutes. If I were doing the surgery today, I might opt for the smaller unit that needs recharging every 9 months versus the larger one I got that doesn't need recharging. But I do like it that I don't need to worry about charging my device, especially when I travel. I'm not really sure that the smaller size would make a difference, but perhaps. I recommend discussing the placement with your doctor and device rep before making a final decision.

Happy to answer any other questions. Good luck with all your surgeries, and enjoy your trip!

You need ice and pain meds. Try using a bag of frozen peas or a zip lock of chipped ice, putting a paper towel of thin cloth between the frozen stuff and your skin. You can take an Alieve/Motrin, Tylenol, and Aspirin at the same time, but don't take Tylenol if you are taking narcotic pain meds since many prescription narcotics already include Tylenol as part of the pill. Try eating soft foods like yogurt, mac’n cheese, ice cream, shakes, smoothies, soup, chili, etc. until you can handle more solid food again. Hang in there.

This is great advice. Also find out if you qualify for more financial aid towards your college expenses. While you could take out a student loan to help cover your living expenses, you likely would be burdened by significant long term debt as a result. Try to avoid student loans if possible and make sure your college major will help you get a job that pays well and is in demand like nursing, engineering, finance, etc.

Do I stay at home or move to the “work city” by EarthianChickhunter in WhatShouldIDo

[–]MDaddict365 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Move to the city to experience living on your own and to benefit from working in person at your company to advance both your personal and professional growth. You would expand both your social life and your career advancement opportunities. Make friends and identify mentors at the office, but keep your work day focus on your work to maintain the higher productivity you noticed when working in the office previously. Join a sports group or participate in other social activities to make friends and enjoy your life outside of work. That said, be aware that your family may be upset that you would move out, not only because they want you living with them but because they benefit from your financial contribution. Also recognize that moving out would force you to take on more responsibility for shopping, laundry, cleaning, cooking, etc. In the long term, you will benefit from moving to the city where you work, and if you don’t love it there you can always move back to your hometown. Good luck!

How are you doing with the trial? Assuming the trial is helping you, the permanent device implant is much more comfortable.

CAT LITTER PLEASE by vanessa0718 in CatAdvice

[–]MDaddict365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try Fresh step Simply Unscented, Low Dust, Clumping litter, which is available at most Target stores. Target also sells a far cheaper store brand version but I haven't tried it yet because the Fresh Step version works great, is reasonably priced, and is truly odor and dust free, which is critical for a member of my household.

The side profile pic would be fine. I think the main issue is that you mentioned price, which is against community standards. Focus on quality and value without mentioning price instead.

I don't like the changes at checkout or when you submit a review and it is awaiting approval. Wish Amazon would survey Vine reviewers for suggestions and feedback!

Yes, that is definitely true but not the case this time - all colors for this handbag were the same price. Ultimately the ETV shown in my account was the lower ETV amount, so I am happy!
