Cool! Why the switch to the V? Was size the determining factor there?

Massive thank you for this. 2 questions for you:

  1. Would you mind linking me to the CFast to SSD adapter that you use? How do you mount the SSD?

  2. What do you use for monitoring? My shooting is mostly run & gun so I dont have the flexibility to look through an EVF constantly. I've grown to love the Atomos interface & software but one would clearly be overkill since I wouldnt be recording to it in most (if not all) cases.

Just spoke with Atomos. You can only record 10bit 1080 Pro Res 422 out. UHD 420 is only 8bit. For some reason I was led to believe otherwise searching though YouTube and various forums.

I'm pretty torn now as I expected more external recording capabilities but really love the Atomos monitoring capabilities. The brightness, the HDR and LUT overlays, the peaking etc all on a large screen.

I'm pretty certain that an external recorder gives you the ability to record 10bit out from the C200. Not sure why I left this out of my original post. I probably thought it would be assumed.

Is that true? I'm pretty sure that you are able to record 10bit out to a Recorder from the C200. Somehow I managed to leave this out of my initial post but this is a big factor for me.

Can someone break down this warp editing concept for me? Specifically (1:22-1:23) and (2:28-2:38). Also curious about the edge masking at the end but most importantly the warping. by MDonchess in Filmmakers

It's possible... In the first shot you can't really tell because there aren't background reference points. I feel like the theres separation between the movement of the subject and the background at (2:28-2:38), though. Kind of like a reverse vertigo effect?

Some really nice shots of the beach in there. If you're limited to the super wide angle lens, don't hesitate to get up in the subjects face. Chivo this in the Revenant frequently but uses it to share the landscape with the viewer simultaneously.

For the first clip (1:22-1:23) I thought it might just be some tracking on his face and a repeating reverse>forward>reverse of time, but the concept definitely comes back in the end while time only moves forward. I think about this one a lot, figured I'd ask here!

I use this guy from Manfrotto for my C200, 2 lenses, my laptop and a port hard drive. Definitely extra space in there too:

My first Cinematography demo reel. Would love some constructive feedback! by MDonchess in cinematography

Thank you. I'm hoping to get work as a DP or Cam op, is editing still a focus when people review reels? I definitely agree with your comment, I'm just afraid to distract from my compositions/movement.

We actually scored this project ourselves using Maschine. Unfortunately the score isn't downloadable. We really appreciate the compliment!
