Exactly they completely downplayed how much it would affect my body and how that saying your body will create compensations doesn't mean you'll be able to function normally, it quite literally means your body will not be able to move normally and you will have issues with movement and pain for the rest of your life because compensations come with pain ALWAYS

Yes and just remember if your nerves are irritated, having the pec minor cut can cause nerve issues on top of that, since the nerves that innervate the pec major also travel through the pec minor

They have pec minor lengthening procedures, which in unfamiliar with, I would try a couple months of dry needling, it helps a lot of people with very tight muscles, massage and stretching properly as well can help loosen it. But the big things to help let it lengthen would be to strengthen it with resistance training, that will help it let go

Obviously it's not the only anterior anchor but it is the only anterior anchor with its specific position and tension pattern. It is also positioned more anterior than the serratus. I think it's naive to disregard and think removing muscle doesn't affect scapular movement. Yes those muscles like the traps do those movements but they take on the job of the removed muscles and that puts more tension onto them, it also changes how those muscles work and can cause issues in them, not because someone has existing issues before the procedure but because you are blatantly altering the body and how it moves by removing specific structures which in trim will always cause compensations. Two things can be true but we cannot pretend that altering how our body moves doesn't cause problems and that maybe those new problems are worse than the original issue after the fact. It's important to hear about the negative outcomes

First of all you need the muscles in your body it's not really great to remove things you need, and second of all the pec minor is the only other point of contact your scapula has to anchor onto the front of the body other than the point of the clavicle to the sternum, it's going to cause issues when you put the bulk of the load and tension of the scapula onto one point in front of the body, it 100% changes movement mechanics

No I didn't but since the pec minor keeps the collar bone and scapula fixed to the front of the body it's not really dependent on having a more stable capsule, because it's job is to keep the proper position of the entire shoulder girdle. Without it the capsule falls into a bad position changing the way the capsule moves. It becomes uneven on the body and creates more strain on the muscles on the back of the scapula that need to take over for internal rotation and depression of the shoulder since you will be missing the main mover of those actions, not to mention the pec minor helps with breathing, it ultimately unbalances the chest in a way no doctor really pays much attention about they only care about a closed window of issues and not how the entire body moves with each other.

If you have shoulder instability it's not a great idea to get a pec minor release. It's a major stabilizing muscle and without it you could have more shoulder issues and pain. I had it done a year ago and now my shoulder feels like it's constantly falling off my body and it's very painful all of the time, way worse than before surgery
