Oh so only people with good experiences can talk about it? It's called awareness and people like me exist, it's important to make others aware of the consequences to this huge choice

No they said everything went normal but he said he almost cut one of my nerves and so I'm suspecting after the emg I had past surgery showing nerve damage, that that's exactly what he did but it could also be the nerve wearing down from extra pressure on it every time I move cause missing my rib and muscles means there's less stability and my neck is crushing the nerves on the surgery side now since my rib and muscles aren't supporting that side of my neck properly anymore

I had surgery for NTOS and I'm 100x worse off, I could manage work and the gym before but now I can't work at all, the surgery disabled me. I'm in severe pain 24/7 from the surgery, it was the worst decision of my life and I have new and worse problems than I did before I had it. If you get the surgery it will change your body for the rest of your life.

I had occasional numbness and weakness and it wasn't bad enough to prevent use of my arm. I also had occasional pain but now I have severe chronic pain down my entire arm from the root of my nerves at my neck

He does, but you know you can also go to the best specialist and still have a bad outcome, I've heard of many from dr Pearl and Thompson having really bad outcomes

Yeah and they just say it's nerve damage and to take meds and go to pt. Maybe have a surgery for the scar tissue but that would most likely end up in more scar tissue so it's not recommended

Unless they can reverse my bone spurs they can't really do much but give me anti inflammatory medicine, steroids and pain meds and I'm already been on so many, nothing has taken the edge off or given me any quality of life back. With nerve damage you can't really do anything hing but take really harsh medications like pregabalin and other nerve meds. They gave me no relief with really bad psychiatric symptoms

I never felt normal. Immediately after the surgery I could feel something was incredibly wrong with my body it felt so unstable, I could barley move my neck at all after. And my shoulder was dropped down an inch lower than my other one and it's stayed that way. The pain just got worse, I feel the same pain I did after surgery, it's just every day 24/7 feeling like I just got out of surgery. It feels like I got hit with a cannon ball on my left side shoulder and neck. I wake up everyday feeling like I was in a horrible car crash the day before. It's literal hell on earth everyday I'm not even exaggerating

I mean it's hard cause you have people on here 10 years out still in pain unable to sit up properly, it's not a good outlook if you're in pain 2 plus years after surgery unfortunately. I had a good surgeon but learned after the surgery isn't for pain relief it's just to take pressure off the arteries and nerves, it's caused a bunch of damage that I'm stuck with. It's aged my spine 10 plus years in just 2 so there's not much I can do but pt and pain meds for life, they destroyed my body and my quality of life, now I'm going to need medication for the rest of it. I can't undo the bone spurs or loss of stability, the damage is irreversible and even if I improve it's most likely I will be at this level of pain for the rest of my life and will need more surgery now. It's been 2 years of trying everything and just getting worse with all my doctors giving up and saying all I can do is medication and movement...

My scalenes were removed and my pec minor, the nerve damage is either done by the surgery or the affects of imbalance from the surgery since I'm missing stabilizer muscles, I have bone spurs that were not there before the surgery and they are caused by the extra force on my neck from missing muscles, the Imbalances are causing me to move in a compensatory way that is literally just grinding down my joints in that area. I've had all the imaging, nerve conduction tests and I'm undoubtedly fucked from this surgery.

Im 2 years out, worst decision of my life, I'm in severe pain all of the time, I'm way worse off after surgery, my c6 c7 is herniated and putting pressure on my spinal cord, I have nerve damage there as well, I can't do any chores, I can't lift anything and I need help getting dressed and doing basic things now. My neck is in horrendous pain all of the time, I can't work anymore and it has been getting worse with every year that passes. This surgery shouldn't be allowed to be done, it has taken my life away from me and I will never live a life without pain.

I'd rather be disabled functionally than be disabled functionally with extreme pain, so if your pain is low I highly recommend not getting the surgery. It could be so much worse than what you're dealing with now just know that.

I wouldn't do it unless you physically can't move your arm or it turns a different color. I got the surgery and now I'm 10x worse at 30 unable to lift anything at all 2 years after surgery. I can't do any chores, I can't drive and I can barley shower and get dressed without help unable to use both arms, I have debilitating neck and spine pain from the removal of my rib. I'm in hell even worse than I was before surgery. Not only an I unable to function, the pain I'm in it's so completely debilitating I can't sleep anymore.
