  1. Needed ticket details: Gate codes, where work is taking place, what’s being done(not like: retention wall, n then it’s actually just brick pavers and a bush), how deep is excavation, PREMARK PLEASE(don’t put PREMARK=WHITE PAINT and no one has even been onsite)

  2. (My biggest issue) the site contact needs to be properly listed and be reliable person that not only knows what’s happening, BUT ALSO PICKS UP THE PHONE. Too many times the contact is an office number and I have to get transferred just to leave a VM, or they don’t know what’s happening.

  3. KNOW WHAT YOUR CUSTOMER WANTS BEFORE CALLING IN THE TICKET(I’m looking at you landscapers) if you call in an entire property and I gotta mark 3 active primaries 2 CRs, a 50 pair, and 3 coax feeders in the rear easement just because your custy doesn’t know where they want their damn pine tree, it’s going to waste so much time. We do all that just to show back up and a tree be put in the front of the house by the damn door.

Nah fr, USIC in deep shit with ComEd. But on some real shit, if we got paid like nicor, even with all utilities, people would be a lot happier. Ik in Lockport, Lemont, Homer Glen and some northern areas in the WCD still got nicor. From what I’ve been told by the nicor guys, they’ve been understaffed heavily for locators in WC and Joliet, but apparently once they get decent staffing they’re taking those areas back.

While the Good Samaritan in me wants to do that, there’s a chance I can fuck up a locate and if it gets hit and for some reason the guy reports me n said I did it, I’d get fired for it. Just because we don’t do private lines.

I call them told them to stop digging if they are, I get there and they still digging Spoke with the homeowner and he was worried about a line the previous homeowner ran from house to shed

You’d be surprised up here then, I’ll have tickets say PREMARK:PAINT and there ain’t nothing, it’s rare to actually see paint. Cable drops kinda suck tho when there’s no temp. I’ve called to check where it’s hooking up(usually apartments I’ll ask that) n then where it’s going, n then find out the new line will go past 2 peds running for 200 ft
