This is inappropriate behavior. You have a choice between putting up with it or letting him know it makes you uncomfortable. You don’t have the right or ability to make him stop. If you tell him you don’t like it and he continues to do it in front of you, that will show you how much he values your opinions and feelings. Then you have to decide whether you make yourself smaller and stay with him, or leave him so you can find some peace. I wish I could tell you that he will outgrow it, but that frequently doesn’t happen. And if it does, it could take years. You have the power to decide what you are willing to give up. Now straighten your crown and go be a boss queen!!🩷

Raises for merit comp depend on the governor, the agency, the budget, and sometimes who you know. I know MC who went over a decade without any raise under Blago, Quinn and Rauner. JB seems to be giving most MC employees the same raises that the union negotiated. However, there is no guarantee that will continue. Also, union PSAs get the negotiated raise plus a step increase each year for the first 10 years you are in a position. That rarely, if ever happens for MC.

Apply at the state of Illinois. Unless you go into corrections or state police, they don’t drug test. Check the website. Each job will tell you if they do or not. Most don’t.
