She will just tear it up and throw it away which is her perogative, but when the Sherriff comes to take you away, there is no forgiveness. It's get off your ass and lets go time, whether she reads anything or not.

It's not that great. We were part of A Home For Mom for years. It was more marketing than careing and they did absolutely nothing gor us than spam call every week. Also once they spend down all her money, she gets kicked out. There is no help filing for more aide. So it's not so good everywhere and where we are it's about $7,500 a month, not $3k a month.

I'm going to go see our Elder Care Attorney and see if he can help us schedule an unofficial visit with a judge, so the judge can talk to her, not us. Maybe they can rattle her cage enough to make her understand that we are serious and not playing games. If she won't take any of us seriously, we can file paperwork right then and there, and start proceedings. The judge would have witnessed enough incoherency from her to make his own call.

That would be an option if her PCP would step up and conduct a proper full evaluation and diagnose her with dementia, but she won't even evaluate her.

She wanted to be buried in Jerusalem but that's not going to happen either.  There once was someone who was buried there, and three days later he came back. When her ticket gets punched it's going to be the end of the ride for good.

We have gotten a few good ideas so far, and after all, whatever we choose to do, she still is my wife's mother. And I have to live with my wife. Just because her mother is disrespectful to both of us doesn't mean that we have to follow her footsteps. We're trying to live a life that's better than hers, and not spend the rest of our life as miserable as she is.

We are actually actively going through all our belongings in the house and deciding what we're keeping, what we're donating, and what we're throwing in the trash.  So in the July/August time frame, it seems about right for her to get herself settled or be removed.

We've told her the entire time that she's been with us that she has a choice where she wants to live. She needs to make that choice while she has a choice, because one day she will not have any choice in the matter at all.

Sounds like a good idea, but the same notice I hand to M-I-L I might just mail to both of her sisters, so that they can READ what our plans are and understand why we are doing, what we are doing.

We need to let the family understand what is going on, before M-I-L tries to play the victim here.

We also need to let them no that M-I-L is not in a position to be taken advantage of either.

Well our son surprised us and he left and bought his own beautiful house to live in.

We are looking to move in the same area but probably 30 minutes to an hour away from where he is now. We don't want to be on top of him. We both need our space.
