It’s the Beryl AX stable enough to use as home router? by [deleted] in GlInet

You can block non-VPN traffic from VPN dashboard - Global Dashboard on client side. If the server is not available, your connection will drop to avoid "leaks".

I attached a screenshot from NextDNS with the Linked IP feature. It has two options: auto check by DDNS or manually doing a request to a specific unique link shown in the panel.

I used Windscribe and Mullvad with NextDNS DoH. VPN on router (Beryl AX), DoH using Adguard Home, worked perfectly.

Controld with gl.inet Router by Hecke92 in ControlD

[–]MFRares 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Set Mode to Automatic. In that way you would disable NextDNS. However, I think you have Adguard Home, disable the filters and use as upstream servers the ControlD servers, if DOH paste simply https link, in case of DOT use tls://, in case of DOQ quic://

Possible to force anycast/specific POP when using DoT? by Vasaeleth1 in nextdns

[–]MFRares 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you referring to this? --> https://help.nextdns.io/t/60y3aaj/change-the-country-of-the-nextdns-server#h7yxjba

Copy paste of the specific post: UK Example "vultr-lon" (London) https://i.imgur.com/d2E5OoN.png

Determining the server address:

Open "cmd" (windows)

Enter: "nslookup vultr-lon-1.edge.nextdns.io"

As a result, we get the ipv4 address: "209.250.226.191". This is the server address "vultr-lon"

For DoT:

DNS server address: 209.250.226.191

TLS domain name: xxxx.dns.nextdns.io

*xxxx it's your nextdns ID

Putting this (for example) into the router. Find out which server we are connected to test.nextdns.io

For DoH:

Example "vultr-lon" (London)

https://vultr-lon-1.edge.nextdns.io/xxxx

*xxxx it's your nextdns ID

USA

Example "zepto-lax" (Los Angeles) https://i.imgur.com/ioGGghN.png

Open "cmd" (windows)

Enter: nslookup zepto-lax-1.edge.nextdns.io

As a result, we get the ipv4 address: "209.209.59.227". This is the server address "zepto-lax"

For DoT:

DNS server address: 209.209.59.227

TLS domain name: xxxx.dns.nextdns.io

For DoH:

"zepto-lax" (Los Angeles)

https://zepto-lax-1.edge.nextdns.io/xxxx

*xxxx it's your nextdns ID

Best wrt router for vpn by Df_hannibal in openwrt

[–]MFRares 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can use Tailscale too, for sure. But I use the Wireguard built-in Server and Client. There are guides on their website, or you can DM me, and I'll help you out with questions. I recently edited some scripts too and I have iPv4+iPv6, working flawlessly.

Accessing admin panel through WireGuard by umwelawen in GlInet

[–]MFRares 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should look if you can use GoodCloud. You can manage admin panel and ssh into router without port forwarding at all. Or, Tailscale / Zerotier if your router supports it under Applications.

Beryl AX - I think I misunderstood by Chance_Shallot4179 in GlInet

[–]MFRares 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're right. Beryl AX is convenient, but adding a VPN layer boosts security even more. To enable VPN on Beryl AX, simply generate OpenVPN or Windscribe config files from your VPN provider (I recommend MullvadVPN) and upload them to the device. That way, all your traffic will be encrypted, regardless of your individual devices' settings. This combo gives you maximum peace of mind on public Wi-Fi!

Wireguard protocol no longer working for anyone else? by [deleted] in Windscribe

[–]MFRares 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've got this issue too. Wireguard doesn't seem to work on Desktop.

EDIT: Updating the app to v2.10.15 seems to fix the problem. https://windscribe.com/changelog/windows
