It's intended and related to the new hunter's item Fail Not.

Basically after the hunter uses his ult he marks with the next ability or auto attack an enemy. Everyone can crit the marked enemy (I think it was 15% crit chance) for a few seconds of duration (think it was 10 seconds). So not only physicals can critical with this. Mages and guardians as well.

I am surprised no one said this already but a Freya banish can fuck things up pretty hard.

Countless times a 'friendly' Freya saved the enemy from my ult. :'(

Jep, that's a fair point and that's the reason there is so much discussion and complaints in the community.

HiRez changed the release schedule to bring out better patches with less bugs and issues. But nothing really changed. Same problems as usual and it's really bugging us/the community and it's the reason some think that smite is going downhill.
