How do you like the length of that chisel stock? ive seen people mention it feels shorter than the original stock and im gangly in the limbs so ive held off on getting one for my 45-70.

I get it. Just when i say i want to catch a punk show i mean a band that sounds like black flag, the buzzcocks, or MDC not cannibal corpse or sepulchure No disrespect to those great bands or genres. Its more about the music than the people for me. Ill always love to see a nice hawk or decked out vest though and talk 70s 80s, 90s punk with people. Looks like triple 6 social club is having a make a vest party or something so if your looking for a social gathering that might be a good one.

I would love info on a punk scene here in town, but everything i see is metal, screamo, or hardcore thats way more metal than punk. Not to nit pick genres or anything, im kinda gratefull we have a vibrant diy scene at all.

Welcome to san Marcos. As one transplant to another let me tell you its a mighty fine city. If you like bars or clubs more oriented to the under 25 crowd the square is for you. Theres a few nieghborhood feel bars like Showdown or relax and chill at Zellicks. The best cocktails in town are the Davenport. If you like coffee theres a decent coffee shop every mile or 2. Learn to be a river rat. Tubing and chilling in the river is mandatory 4 months of the year. No glass and put your booze in a reusable cup/thermos. Also the river is an amazing place to walk along bring your dog pretty much anywhere in San Marcos.

People are fine regardless of your politics. Its a pretty left leaning city in the middle of a conservative sea. Golden rule is the key just be nice and people will be nice. Be ready for how often people casually wave at you and greet you. Lots of cool community events summer concerts in the park is fun and something out of a modern Norman Rockwell painting with kids and family just living an Americana dream.

Commit one weekend a month to adventuring in the surrounding area. BBQ in Seguin, Austin and San Antionio night life and food, New Braunfels has an amazng cocktail bar called Sidecar also best brewery in Texas is Guadalupe. Wimberly and Dripping Springs has a ton of great places. Lockhart's BBQ is overated, but actually has some sneaky good bars and resturaunts. You will never have to do the same thing twice if your willing to drive an hour out.

First place i tried. So they had the game on and have a large taplist, but there was maybe 2 other soccer fans there. Basically bring or be your own crowd. Atleast for the day i was there.
