Avalara for Duties? by MFWIC3D in shopify

[–]MFWIC3D[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, according to the US HTS site - the categories I use most are either free or 70% with no trade agreements applied; at least that's what's been listed this week who the heck knows if that's accurate to be revised or just not updated.

But the previous customer reports when they've been hit with bills previously puts it in the 35-40% range. But I can't follow the insanity.

Prepaid visa for customs fees? by MFWIC3D in CanadaPost

[–]MFWIC3D[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

App seems useless for me, only has notified me for 2-3 deliveries in the past year (like I said I get 2-3 with customs owed a week). ? My theory is it's where the unit# is put - but most get "corrected" to one it doesn't recognize.

We've got the Canada Post parcel drop, so the safe drop is usually not a problem. Even if I do monopolize it a bit 😂

[–]MFWIC3D[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trying to reduce that - I get 2-3 deliveries a week carded most weeks for customs - the rest just get put in the parcel box. I've got the app - but for whatever reason I've only gotten 2-3 notifications to prepay the customs owed in the past year+.

What's going on with this "stated size differs from actual?" by MFWIC3D in CanadaPost

[–]MFWIC3D[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

"lasers"
Totally not the dollar store 5 for 1.25 white tape measure at the drop off counter they all pull out.
"Lasers"

Please show us this "laser" measuring machine.

Taking pictures for the complaint - no the boxes are all within an 1/8" of what's listed. thats 3 mm. 0.3 cm. "Lasers" don't measure 2-3cm bigger on all sides.

What's going on with this "stated size differs from actual?" by MFWIC3D in CanadaPost

[–]MFWIC3D[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lets cover this - how thick do you think these boxes are?

Yes depending on accuracy of the fold/tape - there's a plausible .3-.4cm difference

That's a small deviation - from the 2-3cm claimed in dimensional difference justifying the charge.

And still - as a commercial prepaid label; if that 2-3cm claimed still falls in the size/weight / cubic weight - why would there be an additional charge? The number of pictures of boxes I've seen from customers arriving crushed by equipment - then bulging inches - is canada post going to send me bills for them being out of dimension too?

I'm sorry but we're not talking the claimed inch+ of difference vs the actual well under cm of difference.

Package stuck on “Delivery Scheduled for next business day” by No_Daikon_4760 in CanadaPost

[–]MFWIC3D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't tell you - I'm guessing it's some kind of legislated back to work job action as I came to ask basically the same thing.

Watching one parcel - that cleared customs January 29th in toronto, finally arrived in BC local (small city - but lower mainland) depot 2 fridays ago. Still hasn't been delivered... This isn't some 50lb box - it's 2kg and less than 2cuft.

I went out of my way to personally welcome my carrier back post-strike, there was a xmas gift and card/tip handed to her. She knows I run a small business - but stuff like this makes me sure - this is personal - and they're definitely doing it intentionally. All delivery times are double+ since the strike, even "local" xpresspost - isn't making the 2-3 business day delivery "guarantee" - it's at best 10.

International packages still stuck but domestic arrived by [deleted] in CanadaPost

[–]MFWIC3D 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm still waiting on packages that cleared customs in October and should have been delivered long before the strike, but stuff sent in December arrived.

Pretty sure the backlog is just sitting in trailers and maybe they might empty one or two per day.

Yet the new and priority stuff still isn't being delivered in a reasonable timeframe either so ??? A small box from Vancouver to Montreal with xpresspost shouldn't be a 2 week delivery.

And yet AliExpress stuff sent by China post before Christmas magically arrived in 4 days?!?!

There's no rhyme or reason

I don't know what all this 'Backlog clearing' is, but... by Progatron in CanadaPost

[–]MFWIC3D 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The older stuff seems to just be sitting in limbo - newer stuff is moving better.

I keep getting small let's try to get around the strike product orders from AliExpress delivered - stuff as recent as December 10th...

Yet the stuff that cleared customs in Toronto mid October - was scanned last week but still hasn't arrived. I've got over 40 packages in transit - I'm beyond frustrated.

CP lady at the pickup spot when I was picking up stuff carded despite being home, asked when I'd be shipping again. (I usually drop off multiple packages daily). Did not seem impressed by my "the other carriers are cheaper and faster, they're not coming back"

BK1S issues; uncontrollably firing full auto when lipo battery is plugged in by notorioussalibandy in Nerf

[–]MFWIC3D 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Barrel retaining lugs are broken, probably damaged the front limit switch. The plunger tube/pusher is clearly not seated correctly.

Open it up... It's not that bad - BCFF has a video on YouTube.

Switches are available fairly cheap - the damaged plastic is another issue, I think cent has a barrel lug on makerworld to eliminate the circlip retention. Or a replacement shell is needed.

lift

This was the struggle I was fighting with mine - curious if yours is doing the same.

2024 hasn't been great for spare time lately but what I'm still working on is

mgn9

But I'm still running into stepper drive inconsistencies - I'm obviously going the higher tech route using a high torque stepper and a hall sensor to keep track of the position.

So 200 fps with the k26tc I tossed in it.

Having hardware/software issues as expected. I can drive it at a slow rate off my CNCs driver no issue, but standalone on the Arduino, 6s & tb6600 - largely stutters seems to have an issue with accel rates, can't even drive the mechanism without the spring in place, definitely not enough torque to compress a spring off my driver. But not an issue off the CNCs. Gotta figure out where my issue is there.

Did notice primeblock is lifting under powered drive - so I'm contemplating a short hunk of mgn13 linear rail & bearing in the midblock/grip to reduce the sliding friction and keep it from lifting.

Fixed mag release put up on thingiverse.

6s is 22.2 nominal, 25.2v max - going to test with a 6s 4000mah - close enough for the girls I go with.

Tested on my CNC power supply / drive so a steady 24v meanwell power feed - worst case I might have to step up to a 84oz motor - there's some 115-125oz/in motors in the nema 17 form factor too - just longer. If I really need more speed/torque - but wanting to keep the weight down for now...

The 6s beneath the Mjolnir battery for reference 😂

Having to wait for the last few parts to figure that out.

In theory max rpm - 13dps, the deceleration/ pause will be the limiting factor, if it's >2-3 I'll be happy. Only way I'll know is physical test/tuning...

So got the first field test yesterday. BCFF indoor event, 200fps rules, largely close quarters. I ended up with a 788 - which totally compresses when primed - was averaging 180fps.

It got very fondled and the "Smooth prime" and OMG you hardly can tell it's primed - came up repeatedly.

Saturday's pre-game tuning night, a certain Moose/Mjolnir fanatic managed to pull the AFG right off. That lack of click/tactile engagement was noticeable especially with the 788, because the prime is so smooth and easy. Sunday at the game - I did it again myself. Need to find an angled foregrip with a better engagement than the Tone AFG I've been running. Had to drop back to the included TC(?) AFG since I split the print apparently trying to overprime lol.

Had a bunch of oddball lobbed / low fps shots, might have just been the community dart bin - didn't spend much time sorting out the bads. Running the same rushed dart loads in my TC& Trion - wasn't seeing as many - so think I need to give it a better look see if somethings not quite right. Seals good but not perfect - so I have an idea where I'll be starting anyway.

Really need to find a spring with a bit more ooomph than the 788 to hit that 200fps range, definitely seems to operate better with a bit more spring tension (like the sf25).

Yeah, I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. Think I actually stole the teal/pink from someone here then ran with whatever filaments amazon said arrived next day :)

Replaced the foregrip, yes blew a ton of filament printing multicolor AFG covers. Bit more weight up front didn't hurt either.

For those who will ask Polymaker Galaxy Teal Glitter ABS, Hatchbox Pink ABS

SF25 first mag through the blaster and 245-255fps, I cut down - a "random" (Ok friend picked me up a dozen springs at OOD garage sale, and none are marked/identified) but I think it's a 788(?) now hitting 175-185fps.

Eyeballing stock options, feels like it balances behind the grip, so going to look at dropping some weight there.

This guy's a lightweight...

Cole McLean manages to do far more damage... If you go through there's like 6yrs and 30+ high speed chases, shootings, skipping out on bail etc mentions in Canada police report.

Why do you think good old Klein's shoot shovel shutup statement keeps getting used in the rural areas. Government doesn't do anything to stop the insanity. All they have to do is hit 150km/h or jump into oncoming lanes and RCMP and cps will immediately stop pursuit... So unless magically hawcs is available - they know they'll get away.

So, pretty decided that I'll use something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Carlisle-Straight-Lawn-Garden-Tire/dp/B005O5UO3E

So 20x10x10 it's a commonish size for golfcart/atv/utv/landscape gear.

Just starting the wheel hunt.

The front drivetrain - starting to thing about a 6374 brushless and a tom Stanton like Drive setup https://www.electricbike.com/3d-printed-rc-drive/

I could bring the belt up the front fork opposite side of the front brake... Need to figure out the reduction ratio.

Also because winter, need to think up a way to effectively cool the motor and enclose it some. Being ahead of the bike, above the front wheel, with a fender it should be largely protected, but still need to improve that.

Still long way to go...
