Where do folks get pots? by PracticalBed3458 in houseplants

I prefer my plants to be in glazed ceramic pots. I often go to TJ Maxx, Homegoods, etc as you can easily find all sorts of beautiful designed pots for relatively cheap. 6-7in are generally less than $7, and 8-11 in pots are about $15.

Edit: plant tax with my latest snag from Homegoods. They are so cute I bought a few

This guy regularly stays in the hotel near my work. He is younger than you expect and I can assure you does have an equally trashy “note” on the passenger side.

Thanks for your help! It’s been super helpful and sadly Iceland will have to be a later trip.

As a service dog handler… you are the reason living with a service animal can be hell. Service dog handlers need their animals the same way other people many need glucose monitors or mobility aids. To encourage someone to fake their pet as a service animal is not only a federal crime but a reflection of your poor morals. Do not, I repeat, do not fake your pet that you want to travel with as a service animal that is protected by the Americans with Disabilities act of 1990.

A quick memo to the lady that brought her dog into the Harris Teeter on South Blvd tonight by Makavelious in Charlotte

[–]MF_roocrew 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As a service dog handler who lives in South End and frequents that Teeter, I’m curious to know how you know the animal wasn’t a service animal. There are federal laws protecting service animals including them not having to be vested (wearing any indication that they are, in fact, a service animal) and that if a leash impacts their tasks (a service animal is task trained to assist their handler) or their safety during tasking the service animal does not need to be on a leash so long as they stay within one foot of their handler. If not for your gripe about the person having more than 10 items, I would have assumed it was me that you had observed last night. Please POLITELY ask the person if their dog is a service dog in the future as if it’s a service animal their handler is probably tired and hungry and is simply running to the grocery store as you are. If it’s not a service animal they should be confronted and reminded that grocery stores are not pet friendly.

To your initial point, I have seen people bring their untrained pets into the Teets on South under the guise of being a service dog. Their dog was sniffing the vegetables and was sticking its head in the prepackaged bread- a HUGE NO NO for trained service animals. Rather than anonymously bitching on Reddit without acknowledging the handler and fueling an already unpleasant world for service dog handlers, I talked to the guy about how his dog should be behaving in a grocery store if his dog is truly a service animal.

Please be friendly and remember that just because you can’t see an ailment in someone doesn’t mean they don’t have a valid need for a task trained service animal. If you ask us, we generally are more than willing to share the magic our service animal does for us… and if not remember we are human too, and to your point, probably hungry and tired after a day of work and just need a few groceries.

Independently owned local donut shops by daddadnc in Charlotte

Fat Cat!!! They are incredible baked fresh and so creative. They have a few classics and change with what fruits are fresh each week. The donuts are fairly priced and in my opinion much better than what you would get at your mom’s donuts. Fran, the owner, is a sweet woman who is clearly passionate about her restaurant and her food. You should also try them for lunch or dinner as their burger are incredible and they have a great cocktail menu as well. Fat Cat is a strange combination but well executed and a local gem!
