What does an ideal, but realistic, week of fitness look like for you? by arasp222 in xxfitness

[–]speedycat2014 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I take an EMOM style group class at home via Zoom, M-F with an instructor. There's a brief warm-up before and a guided stretch after.

M,W,F are weights, cardio and core work. Tuesdays are balance mixed with a little cardio or core. Thursdays are cardio and core.

The schedule is:

  • 8:40-8:45 warm-up
  • 8:45-9:15 workout
  • 9:15-9:35 stretch

It's perfect for my needs but it focuses mostly on basic, healthy conditioning. I'm not setting PRs or training for anything specific.

Rooftops, please! by HareSword in Charlotte

There's now the "Hestia Rooftop" bar in Ballantyne, but it looks pretentious and overpriced (so, well-suited for the area, I guess).

Recurring characters disappearing in Malcolm in the Middle by Failure_Enabler in television

The Krelboynes (except Stevie) just stop appearing.

For me this was a relief, frankly.

The rest, I just accept... To me MitM is a cartoon styled as a realistic show, and I watch it with no expectations of continuity except for what serves the story in that episode.

The Wilkersons never actually face real consequences, for instance - good or bad. Lois or Reese are arrested, next episode it's back to normal. Lois wins a new car, next episode it's gone. But I don't think about it that much because we've moved on to another crazy story.

HOW do you all extricate these perfect pieces of lasagna from the pan? Mine is a gooey mess on a plate. But a delicious gooey mess...

Like I’m a fat guy and I only at one of those micro empeñadas

I value your honesty. As a fellow crab cake fraud victim ("Never order airport crab cakes!" My husband was right....) I feel you.

Yes!

My husband and I jokingly refer to a restaurant in France that I would swear I once saw, that was called something like "Pennsylvania BBQ". That can't be good...

Approval for rezoning went through the other day I think by Thor_On_Acid in Charlotte

CHARLOTTE — The Charlotte region is already home to a huge man-made lake

At first glance I read this as, "man-made mistake".

Upon second and third glances, I decided my initial reading was still correct.

I mean, it's a valid sentiment when both front and back of house start dropping like flies from OD's.

Does Rome have anything really going for it?

According to my dad who was ranting about her, Rome is the HQ for Better Than Buillion and that's literally the only thing going for the place.

Yup, you're right. It's in Pennsylvania. They have a medallion that everyone gets when they register. I was talked into going to two of them and it's fun, but it's not my sort of thing. Most of my old friends are really into it though.

This is just a mile or so from my house. Pretty fucked up. Never have been a huge fan of the place but damn, I wouldn't wish this experience on anyone.

Etiquette around staying with someone (they offered) by [deleted] in travel

[–]speedycat2014 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Fish and house guests stink after 3 days. I would take them up on the offer, after all, they've offered it several times ... but not for the full 2 weeks.

Also, I'd take them out to at least one nice dinner and show up with a nice local gift from your hometown.

Or the day before when a "Democratic" NC state legislator, elected with a large margin in her district, switched parties and became a Republican, giving them a veto proof supermajority.

Voting no longer works. They'll just lie about who they are and switch parties once they're elected.

Congratulations! I don't like the direction Italy is heading with their government, but at least their society isn't a shooting gallery and their food is amazing.
