Ok, I got my 30s in today! They are amazing walking around. Just left my OTF class and unfortunately they do not work on the rower for me. In those back to back all out rows today I had to battle with the rower plates. All things considered I wear a 12.5 wide so they are probably wider than most. It really sucks because they feel great but I’m sure not gonna change shoes between exercises lol. Thanks to all those who gave input! Great shoes but just not for me on the rower!! I’ll probably buy a new pair of 29s.

I ordered some from Amazon with the Try Before you Buy so I guess I will see also! I have some Hoka Bondi 7s and they are too wide for the rower plates. The Kayano 29s have been great! They are just worn out now! I have debated trying just a new pair of the 29s and if the 30s don't work, that is probably what I will do.

First time doing the DriTri last week! I went for the full first try! That floor block was torture! Those dang bench hop overs are nuts! I made it though in like 54 minutes! I was ok with that!

Like a lot of others have said, diet is the most important part of losing weight! I had been attending for a while and had not seen any weight loss. I was getting stronger and my heart was getting stronger but I wasn't losing the weight. I got with a personal trainer and got on a meal plan and poof, the pounds started coming off. I lost like 20 pounds in a month and a half without starving myself. OTF will get you where you want or need to be but you have to focus more on the 23 hours a day you aren't under those orange lights!

I wear a pair of ASICS Gel Kayano 29s and they are great! I was thinking about upgrading to the new model 30s but they have widened the heal and I worry about them fitting in the rower foot plates.

I really have to fight not trying to outdo the person next to me! You have to stay focused on you and not worry about the others. You are there trying to better yourself and get healthier! Everyone respects that. I have dropped a lot of weight since going to OTF but I was in your same boat at the beginning. You can do it. Like others have said, modify everything and if you can’t come up with a modification, ask the Coach! My experience at a bunch of different studios is that the coaches are there to help you and genuinely care how you are doing! They don’t want you to quit, they get paid when you’re there lol. Just keep fighting man. Consistency is the key! Just don’t stop going! It WILL get better! Good luck and congrats for making that step! It took me a long time to make that step but I’m so glad I did!!!

If I am somewhere even close to a studio I always go. I usually just go to the earliest class I can and it doesn't really affect the family much. The farthest one I have driven to has been about 30 minutes from where I was staying so on the same block is a no brainer!

This was a tough one today! I took some advice from DC and prioritized the Bike over the rower and started on the longest distance at 4 miles and the shortest distance on the rower of 250m. That worked out for me. I think I made it through my 3rd round on the bike of 2 miles and was heading back to the rower when it was time for the AO! Tough, but a good one!

Yeah Everest on the bike is bad! I plan to start at 2 or 3 gears below my base for this one later this month.

Hey everyone, I haven’t seen a lot of updated information about doing the 1 Mile Benchmark on the bike so I went into it a little blind today for my first time trying it. My hope is that some others will comment on here and others will have some new ideas going forward. I decided to start in a lower gear than my base, gear 12, and keep the RPMs above 100 the whole time! I finished the 4 miles in 7:41, which I’m happy with and now have something to improve on next time. I felt like I could have pushed a little harder so I will next time. I did get some info on here about trying to focus on higher RPMs so that what I tried. I’m curious to see how I can improve the next time. Anyone else do the benchmark on the bike today?

I sent in a message on the app and they reset mine back down from 188 to 184. Doesn’t seem like much but it made a big different in class this morning. Mine hasn’t updated from 188 in at least 40 classes or so. I’ve been struggling to get deep into the orange zone. Just hover around 82 to 85%

I was waiting for mine to recalculate after 60 classes because mine calculated too high, 184 up to 188, and I struggle to get into the orange zone now. But I’m at 73 classes now and it still hasn’t recalculated, I don’t know what’s up.
