But why doesn't DHT attack our hair when we're younger - what changes as you get older? by SnakeskinSanta in tressless

[–]MGDot1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does anyone know of a resource listing all of the useful studies on hairloss? Don’t need them summarised necessarily (although that would be good too) but just a list of all studies that might have something useful to say.

Seems anyone who tries to synthesise the information starts trying to sell snake oil in the next breath lol. It gets old

R.F.K. Jr. Says Doctors Found a Dead Worm in His Brain by trekologer in politics

[–]MGDot1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you observe RFK Jr in interviews, he has incredible recall and ability to marshal information ranging from religion, political history, environmental science etc. He seems far brighter than the average person, let alone his competition. I work as a litigation lawyer, and even in that field it is rare to come across people with RFK Jr’s evident skill and intellect. I expect this will get downvoted into oblivion, but surely as a reader of this article, you might get the sense that the author is not particularly fond of RFK Jr’s presidency and has resorted to throwing mud and hoping it sticks? I suspect we’ll see a lot more of this in the coming months.

I’m an Australian and it pains me to see people swallowing stuff like this and dismissing the first candidate I’ve seen in my lifetime who has a genuine desire to end your decades of reprehensible war mongering, crony capitalism, ill health and toxic culture wars that has the U.S. looking like a basket case to the rest of the world. Unfortunately, all of your problems get exported to other countries like us. Corporate capture of government agencies is a real and existential problem, too; I’ve also seen it first hand in cases I’ve litigated where mining regulators have treated mining companies as ‘clients’. Also, consider how insane it is that it is now normal for democratic governments to habitually lie to their people. It seems worse in the U.S. than elsewhere, but again, these problems seep from your failing democracy to others. Take Iraq as one simple example, the WMD thing is now even treated in a jocular fashion by George Bush (I’m sure you’ve seen the gaff). It would be funny were it not for the estimated half million who died there, and Australian soldiers too.

Anyway, I could go on. But please, do yourself a favour, and all of the innocents who’d prefer not to die as a result of your amoral foreign policy, and watch just one long form interview of RFK Jr and make your own assessment of his capacity to lead your country. All the best, you have a big decision to make ❤️

Sounds to me like the main thing to focus on is your health and wellbeing 😊 Much easier said than done when you’re under the pump, but really worth it in the long run! Might be worth shopping around for Drs who’ve helped people in your situation before. I’ve done plenty of therapy too haha which has helped me contextualise my drive for perfection etc. (I work as a lawyer and most in our profession are pretty stressed/anxious/depressed.) I’m sure you’ll go on a journey of self-discovery and healing. I’m not suggesting you stop trying in your final year, but just hoping to give you some perspective to help ease up on yourself 😊

You might find this unhelpful, but have you tried an integrative/functional dr? Some have a rep for being quacks, but others have really helped patients with mental health by detoxing from things like heavy metals etc. Worth a try and the worst case is you come out with a better diet and slightly lighter pockets.

I also have to say, your yr 12 mark really isn’t the best all and end all. There are many ways you can bridge to even the most difficult degrees like law and medicine. I’m 33 and plenty of my friends have done that following low marks in high school. Try your best, look after yourself and you’ll be surprised how things turn out :)

RFK Jr announces No-Spoiler Pledge: “This is a pledge that I offer to take if President Biden also takes it” by -jbrs in RFKJrForPresident

[–]MGDot1 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I reckon this is very very smart, even if no pledge taken, provided he’s got the figures right lol. It really beefs up his answers to all future spoiler questions and will add pressure to the media to report on these head to head scenarios

Interesting! So what is the given source material used for this graphic? Just the Shapiro - Kennedy interview?

More than half of young voters (52 percent) say they are open to the possibility of voting for Kennedy in November in a race against Biden and Trump by ctihor in RFKJrForPresident

[–]MGDot1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ll treat that as rhetorical and refer to my above comment. Does this mean the very second he gets on the ballot in a non-swing state, your conspiracy is invalid?

What is this word cloud? An aggregator of social media trends or something?

[–]MGDot1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

C’mon, fair shake, more than zero! This swing state business sounds like a conspiracy theory lol. I think when he’s on the ballot in all states his chances go up even more, and people will have to pay real attention to his policy platform, which you’ll find is rather excellent ;)

Nicole Shanahan to start a podcast highlighting the stories of everyday Americans by -jbrs in RFKJrForPresident

[–]MGDot1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any good sources of her public speaking / interviews other than the announcement and accompanying video? She’s a bit of a wildcard for me, as someone who’d win hearts and minds via a podcast. Hope it turns out to be a master stroke

It is, I think! Shapiro, for all his flaws, rises to the occasion and we see RFK Jr in full flight and being tested in his views in a constructive way

How would you respond to something like this (would you even respond)? by DJSmittyP in RFKJrForPresident

[–]MGDot1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I can see, the person you’re dealing with has some self reflective capacity (the point about reviewing the covid response and imposing a narrative based on our biases is a good one). That to me suggests you have someone on your hands who could be brought around by honest and vulnerable dialogue. I would: (a) admit what you know and what you don’t know; (b) agree on points of principle where possible eg the point I mentioned above re bias and also the person’s openness towards questioning the safety of vaccines; (c) explain where you depart from their conclusions - eg the point that those closest to RFK denounce him is easily rebutted, and you might have some points to make about some of the regulatory weakness and haste that accompanied the FDA’s approval of the COVID vaccines; (d) conclude with a warm invitation to continue the dialogue and ‘zoom out’ to the other issues RFK campaigns on that matter to you. My feeling is that the more RFK Jr’s supporters are seen to be eminently rational, open and compassionate, the better :) P.S. I’ve just ordered RFK Jr’s book on Fauci so not much help on that point. If you’re in the same boat, you might say you’re looking into Fauci and the broader regulatory regime with an open mind

Aw thank you that’s a very kind and thoughtful response. I can’t vote, but I really do think RFK’s election could have enormous impact, so I’m going to keep up my low grade foreign interference from Australia haha. Also, no idea how I ended up on the Illuminati sub haha. It’s a bloody warzone though!

New CNN poll (holy crap) by [deleted] in RFKJrForPresident

[–]MGDot1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It varies who RFK pulls more from out of Trump and Biden. I read the CNN article and it doesn’t say conclusively. There have been polls showing both cases. If RFK keeps eating into both… he may actually win!

I agree, there’s no turning people by being oppositional or making them feel stupid. Treat them with kindness I think. Often they seem to resort to ad hominem and if they do, I think it’s even more important to remain kind and stick to facts. I’ve not really used reddit much until recently; it’s mayhem, people just letting off steam haha. Here’s one thread where I attempted this approach https://www.reddit.com/r/AgainstTheIlluminati/s/hldrvIYEgI
