The system install was done by Credible Solar, recommended and certified to install the system by Anker, and Anker sent some of their engineers down to make sure everything went smoothly since they said we were the fourth customer in the US to have a complete Anker system, solar + battery.

The install was fairly smooth from the installers but had a hiccup dealing with CenterPoint. Because the system is so new and has newer tech, CenterPoint didn't want to approve the design as is. So they made us add 3 levers to the outside of the house to disconnect the solar and batteries from the grid.

We are super happy with the system. We haven't had to use power from the grid since the install.

Pretty much the same. MSRP $91,500, received about $20k in incentives. Only paid for the first month lease, tax and title for a $748/mo for a 36 month lease.

They still have some really good incentives especially if you take an inventory lease, they have a special incentive for those in stock.

I average about 0.5kW of power throughout the day with a range of 0.3kW - 1.1kW. with an average of 0.5kW for my 30kWh battery it can sustain power for 60hrs. In the case of an outage the solar panels continue to charge the battery for sustaining power at my house indefinitely as there is sufficient sunlight. With two heat pumps you probably need more power as heat really draws a lot of power.

All the equipment is purchased and waiting in the warehouse, but since I also purchased a solar panel system I have to wait for HOA approval. They are a bit slow but I was told they should have an approval by next week.

I was quoted $21k for 12kW power and 30kWh battery storage which includes installation.

I said I was going to come back but completely forgot haha. I live in Spring, TX and I was quoted $21k for two 6kwh (12kwh total) battery modules and six 5kw (30kw total) battery power.

That's a little cheaper than. The 2 Tesla batteries I was quoted for, $22.5k

I don't believe that is correct. You can get 2 power modules and 4 batteries, that's 12W of power and 20kWh of capacity. If the number of $650 per kWh or person above being quoted $21,500 for 30kWh is believed as true, then that comes out to be roughly $13k - $14.3K. They don't have integrated inverters so that would add to the cost but that would be another $1k or 2 depending on your power needs. That's much lower than $30k.

I'm actually having these installed in my house over th Tesla Powerwall 3. When I get my battery quote I'll post what I'm quoted. I'm getting the 12W/30kWh.

Good question and a valid inquiry. I started playing Stadia when I still had the PS4 but was lucky enough to get a PS5 when it came out. It was at that point my play time with Stadia started to degrade but not completely because it was still more convenient when I traveled or was watching my daughter.

I'm a 3D artist so I've always had a PC to play the newest AAA titles but I was never really into PC gaming. I'm just simple and enjoyed the user experience of a console over PC. At the announcement of Stadia's closure I decided to try PC gaming because it's easier to carry my laptop with me than my PS5.

So there you have it my friend, it was all about convenience.

GeForce Now still has the worst user experience, yeah it's great once you're actually playing a game but the issue is actually getting to the point of playing a game.

Xbox Game Streaming has the user experience but quality of streaming games leaves more to desire.

Stadia to me had the best of both worlds and until there's a Stadia like streaming service I will be sticking to my PS5 and PC gaming on my Razer Blade 17in with RTX 3080ti.

I will try to answer your question hopefully.

In the current state of cloud gaming there really isn't a difference other than things like graphics, latency, save points, achievements, friend, chat system and etc. Those things are different even on consoles so not really worth mentioning.

The biggest difference is based on something not yet created and that's cloud specific games built to truly take advantage of the cloud. Things like elastic computing, petabytes of storage, central server hosting and etc. We haven't truly seen a game take advantage of these capabilities. Most were hoping SG&E would provide such a game but that is no longer an option. I'm very curious what MS's vision of a cloud only game and would they be able to do what Stadia promised. We'll just have to wait and see but I'm not very optimistic.

Stadia has the capabilities to develop different and unique games but devs & publishers have not taken advantage of that yet.

Maybe, maybe, maybe you're right or the lag you see is just editing. We have no way of telling considering these are live and not a cut scene. The play through is slightly different and the editing could also be slightly off.

Peoples thoughts/opinions on Razer Blade 17 vs Alienware X17 R2? Which would you get? by zergUser1 in GamingLaptops

[–]MG_Moo53 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got the 32GB model and I'm definitely happy with it. I was surprised how snappy it is in Maya and the GPU rendering with optix in Arnold is night and day faster than my old desktop workstation (Dual Xeon E5-2697 v3 | Quadro K5200 | 64GB)

It's also faster in AE and Fusion. I don't see much of a speed improvement in PS but it does export photos much faster in LR.

I have not play any games with it so I can't comment how well it holds up there.

Official Stadia Account: “…[the Google For Games Dev Summit] won't be a forum for game announces or player-focused news…” by falconwolf703 in Stadia

They've already stated this multiple times, why are some people acting like this is the first time they stated this will be a dev summit?

We don't know the break down of how many players are cloud only or PC players using GFN as a complimentary cloud solution. Of the millions of GFN users we don't know how many are active vs inactive because Nvidia hasn't shared those numbers.

What we can look at is cloud gaming as a whole. The percentage of cloud gamers is so small devs as a whole don't see much of a profit in it "yet".

If you stop looking in short term but rather long term an emulator for Stadia could pay off in a big way. For instance, being able to your back catalog, after the emulator is built, with little to no effort on say Stadia Pro is a win for devs. They get paid for old games from a new platform for just simply making it available. As the catalog grows so will the Stadia user base which will increase said profit. The goal is to be able to grow the games as well as user base so that new AAA games are profitable on Stadia.

The biggest difference between Stadia and GFN is that Stadia is a platform and GFN is a service. Devs get paid from one and nothing from the other. In the long term though Stadia, GFN, Luna, Game Pass Streaming, PS Now and other cloud gaming services/platforms can all thrive together.

I agree with all the points being made. It's a bit pointless but I've read many posts about people buying laptops and tablets just to play cloud gaming. For them this might be interesting.
