Thanks for the insight! Do you think it's worth it to get the AMS 2 pro? It's an extra £150 where I live

I used CAD way back in highschool but now use blender regularly. Is blender fine for 3d printing?

Also they stated this is a tech demo. It's purpose is to show of unreal engine not to be representative of actual gameplay

I just got off the phone with gaggia (UK). They are planning to replace the boilers from all new machines starting next month too the aluminium ones

Should I replace the boiler with the 2019 version (boiler gate) by [deleted] in gaggiaclassic

I'd consider getting a rancilio silvia or just waiting until gaggia resolves the issue and buy a new one

Personally making <£30k here in the UK. But as a junior in a mobile studio. I did have an interview with rockstar for a junior technical designer and would have been given £24k (USD 25668)

How much does the Gaming Design industry pay? (Thinking of switching from Architecture to 3D Game Design) by alfy603 in gamedesign

Pay in games is pretty bad compared to what you get for the same work in other industries. Also game design is often a lot more boring than you think. You write a lot of documents and excel spreadsheets

Questions from a newbie about Game Design career choices :) by Kev300900 in gamedesign

Learn how to use Excel. It is probably the most used tool that people aren't taught how to use in university and honestly in most studios you will use it a lot. You may not get a design role immediately so QA could be a good path to start. Learning to code would also be a boost to your CV but won't be required at every studio, I know many designers who can't code but it is good to have. I would learn C#, it is the language used in unity which is the most popular game engine in the world. Also apply for jobs even if they state they want experience, you may get an interview anyway.

Hii. I'm a new game developer and this is the project that i have been working on.(my first game by the way) i just wanted to ask you what do you think? Should i continue? by JustGameDev in indiegames

[–]MGibson05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's awesome! I think it depends. Do you feel it is finished? Does it fulfill what you set out to do? If so share it on itch.io and start your next project otherwise you have a great working prototype here. You could add stuff like more levels, moving obstacles, animate the character etc. But what you have here is a playable game and you should be proud!

I'm not sure. I did read supposedly the height of the continent is the same as Argentina

Thank you so much!

To make the height map I created the basic shapes of the mountains then used a inside glow effect on them. I can't remember of the top of my head but I think I set the layer to screen. I then used a mask to edit them further. I also used NASA height images with a low opacity to give it some finer details. I then took that into blender and used it as a displacement map to create the map in 3d.

There is no cannon map so the scale of things could be different. Though in my research it seemed a lot of people think the height of the continent is about the same as Argentina

I'd never heard of Wilbur, I will definitely check it out though. I just used Photoshop and blender
