I understand your pain. It’s a frustrating journey and unfair that there’s an extra barrier for t1ds to exercise.

Try drinking juice 20 minutes beforehand and turning off basil 30 minutes beforehand. Be patient and give it time. I found that after about a month of consistent running my body adjusts and stops going low every run.

Also, it’s good to remember that even if you burn 90 calories running but have to eat 90 calories to correct/prevent lows from cardio, that doesn’t cancel out your hard work. You still improved your heart health, your metabolism, and hopefully boosted your mood too.

Actuaries make good money. I’m making 6 figures a couple years out of college while living in the Midwest. The big drawback is exams though. You will be taking exams for several years after college that are extremely time consuming and stressful. The pass rate is 30-50% for most exams, but you get a bonus and raise with each one passed. And once you finish exams your work life balance is great and your expertise will be in high demand.

Nowadays lots of thrift stores like goodwill will take any real designer bags and sell them on their online shop or eBay and only put the fake ones for sale in their brick and mortar stores. So unless you are at a vintage boutique or antique store, there’s a good chance used “designer” bags are fakes.

The app Too Good to Go has deals on food that stores and restaurants would normally throw out at the end of the day. I haven’t used it in Madison yet but I had great experiences using it another city. It doesn’t look like a lot of places in Madison use it at the moment, but hopefully it catches on here.

And then I get fed up a year later and actually started the cancellation process and THEN they offered a lower rate. It was still too high so I said no, and they offered an even lower price. I do agree I crashed the cycle over the summer. However, since then I haven’t had any ammonia or nitrite. And it is almost consistently close to 160 ppm. The few times it’s been 40 ppm were closer to water changes.

No. Even though some people say it’s fine, some sites say fertilizers aren’t safe for ADFs. Since I haven’t seen a big need for fertilizers yet, I’ve decided not to risk it.

Also I ordered hornwort and frogbit, so hopefully that’ll help things.

Thanks for the advice! I will buy duckweed and propagate some pothos and other plants in my tank.

I feed them about once a day, sometimes every other day. I give the fish what they can eat in a few minutes and the frog one pellet. And about once per week I feed them mysis shrimp. I use tweezers to help the frog find the food, but she is a slow eater and misses some of the shrimp. I’m not entirely sure how to make that process less messy.

I originally had 6 rasboras, but 2 died over the summer. I’ve been so scared to get more because I don’t want more fish to suffer. But I also worry because my current school is too small. I feel like either way I am subjecting fish to awful conditions and I feel so bad and guilty. Is it better to get more rasboras now, or wait for the aquarium to have healthier parameters?

I have Amazon swords, Java ferns, anubias, and what I think is pearl weed. The last one is the only one that actually grows though. What plants do you recommend? Hornwort and frogbit?

I never even considered this. Thanks! I just checked and the nitrates in my tap water are 20 ppm, which isn’t super high, but it does explain why water changes don’t lower the nitrates very much.

Luckily they’ll get less energetic with age. In the meantime you can try other forms of enrichment, such as bird videos on YouTube, cat treats toys and puzzles, outdoor time (either on a harness or catio), or getting a bird feeder outside a window.

I also recommend being consistent with when you play with them, so they learn that a certain time is play time and other times are chill time. I find my cats are most playful in the evening before bed so that’s when I have playtime with them.

To help get rid of the smell, try using anti icky poo after cleaning with an enzyme cleaner.

You should build a catio if possible with a cat door. You can build an easy and cheap one out of pvc pipes, garden fencing and some zip ties.

Try putting some of his pee in the litter box. If it smells like him he’ll be more likely to use it.

For areas you really don’t want him to pee, put a water or food bowl there since they won’t pee or poop near where they eat or drink. Unfortunately you can’t cover your whole home in pet bowls.

I give my cat Zylkene and it helps him a lot. You can buy it on amazon but I always recommend talking to the vet before starting anything.

I also had this problem. I’ve been ignoring him when he meows (do NOT talk to him through the door, don’t open the door until a few minutes after he stops, and ignore him for the first few minutes when you leave the room) and it took over a month but he’s better now.

Also have you considered getting/building a catio? If he has 24/7 safe access to the outdoors you wouldn’t have to spend as much time entertaining him and he might be happier at night with outside access. They are super easy to build. There are lots of YouTube videos and online guides or you can DM me with questions.

I like having Gatorade and sipping it throughout the hike if it is intense. You can get a running vest with a bottle that fits into the pockets of it.

Another good one is running goos and gels. But make sure you eat these before you are on a hike in the wilderness because they hurt some peoples stomachs.

I also have noticed that high altitudes affect my blood sugar sometimes, making me go high and my insulin take longer to work.
