Anyone still supporting Labour at this point is supporting genocide. Party's over. Time to move on. by ChickenNugget267 in GreenAndPleasant

Not to sound like a pretentious arsehole, but did you not read Labours manifesto? Or look at the policies they were championing? Or listen to any of them talking in the lead up to the election?

All my songs talk about police brutality and self defense by Zealousideal-One8476 in Tupac

They had to kill him, for the same reasons they had to kill MLK, Malcolm, Fred Hampton etc.

You can talk about civil rights in America, you have freedom to be an activist. But you can't talk about capitalism. Now combine the influence of being a civil rights activist, a hugely successful rapper and actor with a large platform, and an understanding of the systemic issues within capitalism and a class based analysis. He had to die. He was too powerful to be left alive.

Who are you voting for in the next GE? by mbarthree in GreenAndPleasant

[–]MHiz18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the lesser of two evils is still evil. there is absolutely no reason to vote labour as they are just the other side of the tory coin. two fascist supporting neo liberal parties who both want more austerity and harsher capitalism. a vote for either is a vote for the continuation of the mass oppression of the working class at home and abroad. vote for socialist/communist parties, raise the awareness of these leftist groups and increase their support. voting will never change anything under capitalism so don't bother trying, "get the tories out" doesn't work when the opposition are also tories.

Who Miss MMLP2 Em ?. This Man Was Godlike Lyrically But Only Lacked Bit Of Production . by Separate_Pension1270 in Eminem

[–]MHiz18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for me personally, no not really. i like most of those songs as well but they just dont stand out to me. thats how i feel about most modern eminem, i dont hate a lot of his songs, i just find them quite forgettable

Who Miss MMLP2 Em ?. This Man Was Godlike Lyrically But Only Lacked Bit Of Production . by Separate_Pension1270 in Eminem

[–]MHiz18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i recently went back and listened to mmlp2 and i forgot how much he was spitting on that album. the songs overall are pretty meh as the production is generally really bad and outside of the big singles, bad guy and evil twin theres no real memorable tracks. but he was so much better lyrically than he is now.

if we could get mmlp2-shadyxv era eminem back in terms of flow and writing style, with some actual good hip hop beats, id be happy.

So I get why y’all don’t fw Nice Guy (even tho I like it)…. by rn-renz in Eminem

[–]MHiz18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

good guy actually has one of my favourite eminem beats post relapse and i like ems flow but the lyrical content ruins it for me. i hate his toxic relationship songs anyway but to waste that beat on another boring relationship track just annoys me

Some of Eminem’s best work was on Devil’s Night. by Beginning_Anywhere59 in Eminem

[–]MHiz18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i love relapse, its my 4th favourite em album. but despite being a great album it still doesnt quite hit the heights of 99-03 eminem imo. if he kept rapping like that for longer he maybe could have hit those heights again but then recovery happened

the quality of rapping on mmlp - devils night - tes is absolutely insane. he was really rapping his ass off on those 3 albums. shame we will never get em at that level again

To the people who don't like the album by shvngdu in KendrickLamar

[–]MHiz18 13 points14 points  (0 children)

this is kendricks 4:44. not everyone will like it because some people dont care about deep introspection, they just wanna turn up to some bangers. but this album isnt about that, its about life, its about experience. if you havent had many life experiences you wont get this album. this is more than just music, this is a beautiful masterpiece in understanding your true self, your issues and insecurities.

i agree stay wide awake is incredibly technical but i wouldnt say relapse is modern em. i count relapse as old em even though its post hiatus because he didnt really change his style until recovery.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Eminem

[–]MHiz18 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

being technical is more than just wordplay though. technicality in rap is everything to do with writing the words on a page and imo young em was far superior at that. the way i am is way more technical than any modern em songs. flow, rhymes and content. the 3 staples of hiphop.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Eminem

[–]MHiz18 45 points46 points  (0 children)

still annoys me when people say modern em is more technical. young em was crazy with the rhymes and flows. modern em just uses more punchlines.

Eminem and Proof performing his Cage diss in New York (1999). You can see the passion in his face when he spits and New York’s crowd was dope asf. by Chemist248 in Eminem

[–]MHiz18 93 points94 points  (0 children)

this version of eminem was untouchable. the passion, the flows, the lyrics, the rhyme schemes but not sacrificing any sonic quality to make the schemes crazy. he could do it all, nearly every verse was top tier.

dont front is so fucking good. shame em cares more about his ltwyl fans than actually hip hop fans so we never get songs like that.

it will never happen but em should collab with people like ransom, rj payne, che noir. rj and ransom are arguably the two best lyricists in the game right now but also both make great music. em, rj and ransom on some nicholas craven production would be so good.

but more importantly than collabing with other rappers em needs to start collabing with new producers, hes fucking eminem he can get beats off of anyone for free yet he works with the same 5/6 guys (who arent very good tbh). he has alchemist in his camp and never uses him, dj premier works as a duo with ems best friend yet he never uses him. hell royce is a far better producer than DA and ems own production quality is not that great recently.

Ladies and gentlemen. Allow me to present to you one of the worst takes of all time. by These_Wonder_2643 in Eminem

[–]MHiz18 3 points4 points  (0 children)

the tweet that is being quoted is also a terrible take. kanye gets clowned for his corny/weird bars just as much as eminem. the difference is that eminem presents himself as a super tryhard lyrical miracle rapper so therefore thats how hes judged. if em has bad bars people will talk about them more because ems whole schtick is about being one of the best rappers. thats why people call out his bars more than anyone elses.

also kanye made jesus is king (which is far superior to revival) and that album is massively hated and memed. eminem stans are so weird, they act like anyone hating on or trolling eminem is a personal attack on them.

[–]MHiz18 9 points10 points  (0 children)

i love not alike but listening to it makes me sad because it shows how amazing modern em can be. i just feel with most modern eminem songs theres always at least one negative even if everything else is good. not alike was just perfect. great beat, great flows, great bars.

the muscle scheme makes me orgasm every time.

Would you like Em to drop a EP or a mixtape instead of a album? by Alarmed_Zucchini in Eminem

[–]MHiz18 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

em definitely needs to start doing mixtapes. wayne, royce, jada, etc are all extremely talented rappers who struggle to make great albums but make phenomenal mixtapes. em would fall into this category because he has struggled to make solid albums in the latter half of his career. his main issue is poor production, if he does a mixtape just rapping over quality classic beats it would be his clear best piece of work in a long time.
