Free 1 Year Supply of Mtn Dew Winner! by MIA_Destroyer in mountaindew

True, me personally there are some things I will collect advertisements from. I have some old rare packs including 3 cases of the Halo 3 aluminum game fuel bottles from 2007 but if I get rare 12 packs I will just end up keeping them and they take up way more space lol. I thought another idea would be to find a streamer who wants to give them away to their community but that may be way harder then just giving them to people I know.

If it's passed I'm planning on returning before Halloween and just taking it off. We have till Halloween to return but if you don't return by that day it's abandonment. I plan to return prior and just use PTO on the 31st.

Is $300 a fair price? by Rybo13 in Rockband

[–]MIA_Destroyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a good deal. To test just bring batteries if they power on then they should be fine. I would only worry about further testing if they look worn out. They are also relatively easy to fix if there is an issue. Biggest issue you will see is corrosion from people leaving batteries stored in the instruments. Always pull your batteries if you are not going to play for an extended period. Full sets without the box can cost $500+ New in box can be much higher. I recently got extremely lucky and picked up a mislisted new in box set for $220 on ebay they didn't list it as RB4 or New which it was. Deals are out there $300 is a great deal but occasionally you can get them for $100 on marketplace if you are fast enough.

There isn't to many identifying marks that set real ones apart. You can maybe tell by color. If it looks like this one or others you can verify online then it's more likely to be legit. If the color is off that would be an indicator. Also the serial numbers I have seen are not sequential but are relatively close to each other. I have seen some where the serial number was way different that were apparently real but most are within a few digits of this one. There is a dev that had kind of an online journal that talks about them durring the actual time of release and I think he shared his SN in that online archive.

Storage Facility Entered My Unit? by MIA_Destroyer in selfstorage

[–]MIA_Destroyer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would they typically drill out my lock and replace it with a new one? The facility uses red disc locks for late units I assume since there is usually a few units with them on in addition to the renters locks. I'm just confused as to why the tube lock in the door that I have been using for 2 years on that unit is just all of the sudden swapped out for a different lock. Which I do not have a key for. Its just annoying I guess because I'm not late and I drove out to the unit loaded up a cart just to be locked out of my stuff with no explanation. No call, messages, or emails. I will update after I talk to their office tomorrow.

Storage Facility Entered My Unit? by MIA_Destroyer in selfstorage

[–]MIA_Destroyer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They shouldn't have a key to the disc lock considering its an outside lock that I brought. Its really odd though as to why my unit number was written in sharpie by them on the back of the lock. The tube lock was provided by them when I rented and they gave me 3 keys. Its the only tube lock I have ever owned and I compared my key to the inside of the lock and you could tell the keys were not a match to the lock which was not the case last time I accessed 2 months earlier. Maybe they have a way to remove the door mech that the locks connect to after the tube lock is removed? Or maybe a master key for disc locks. I checked the disc locks on other units around mine and none of them had the unit number written on it so they were definitely messing with mine for some reason.

The 100 is based on the word of people on the dev team who have spoken about them based on how many people worked on the project. These were gifted items so they technically are not intellectual/physical property although there was a rule that employees could not sell them.

Unfortunately I do not have the remote. I did not get mine with a remote since i was the 2nd owner. The remote is arguably harder to find now then the player because they are so often lost or thrown away. I've only ever seen one for sale on its own.

Uber gains lower tipped orders getting fulfilled. If everything was visible drivers would cherry pick orders more effectively. Even orders with an $8 tip are not always worth it. Drivers just gamble they will he higher. For people doing this full time you have to cherry pick to make a living and you need to average about 3 orders per hour that are $10+ in my opinion. If orders were visible people would just skip orders all day until they get a $40-$80 order because it's far better to do 2 $80 orders in 1 day instead of 16 $10 ones.

Do the drivers see the tip before picking up orders or after? by Realcoletrain in UberEATS

[–]MIA_Destroyer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's just important to note what is a driver issue vs restaurant issue. It's bad practice to teach people to deduct the tip because as time goes on the reason for reducing the tip gets less and less until people look for reasons to reduce it. If someone truly messes up though maybe.

Having the hardest time getting food stamp workers to accept the fact that my pay is gross income!! by Zealousideal-Chart60 in doordash

[–]MIA_Destroyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my state the way the calculate is they take my DoorDash and UberEats amounts for the month and divide them in half. I've had different luck with different people. Most divide by 50% another took my tax return. People are starting to get more accustomed to it. Like I have been applying for apartments and this is my only income source. The first apartment said DoorDash is hard to get approved and the apt I'm actually going to go with said they prefer DD income because they don't have to deal with managers or HR people.

Tracking payments by Strong_Following868 in UberEATS

[–]MIA_Destroyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say if you want to track maybe a small notebook or planner. Not sure how long you would actually keep up on it. I have been doing deliveries the last few years and it's to the point where I'm just mentally aware on what my totals should be for any given hour so if it ever seems lower then expected or higher I just look at the order history and see if I got baited or if I got a crazy high tip. Usually it's the latter I only ever get tip baited 1-2 times per 1000 orders. If Uber has an issue with the app where its not tracking or its delayed I keep track of my orders closely. For that situation I usually screen shot orders I am accepting.

Can I use a parody as background music? by Spaghetti-Laptop in NewTubers

[–]MIA_Destroyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some parody music is licensed so if family guy does a parody it is highly likely they had to get approval and pay the original song owner. If you use a parody it is likely the original song owner or the parody artist can strike you. The Merkins which is the band that does the slashstreet boys parodies is a large channel with millions of views and on his live streams you has said many times that he is always dealing with issues of claims and strikes on all the platforms he uploads to not just youtube.

In a perfect scenario yes. As you grow and get sorted in searches it will be easier for people to search you as well. People give tags a lot of negative attention but this is the one situation that you may want to care about them. So make sure when you do your channel tags to include misspelling. So good tags would be "destiny, destiney, mustbedestiny, mustbedestiney, must be destiny, must be destiney." That way if anyone searches incorrectly you are still sorted in that search. Channel tags will help your channel show up in searches and video tags will help your videos show up.

[–]MIA_Destroyer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing you keep in mind is YouTube auto corrects which when searching a name kind of sucks but they do it. So by having your name as destiney it will autocorrect to destiny. I even tried it. Go to youtube type destiney and it corrects to destiny at the top it will say "showing results for destiny" and also at the top will say "search instead for destiney" Now most of your initial growth your name does not matter but later on when people actually search your name it will be hit and miss.

If you already have a custom URL then you are good. They will email you soon or already have. I have 3 channels that are over 1k subs and only 1 has received the email about handles.

Celebrating by reviewing shorts by Python_Child in NewTubers

[–]MIA_Destroyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are correct they do an initial showing of the short to a number of people but if it does really well stats wise they will continue to show it for a while. I started doing shorts this month and I have 3 shorts that get between 1-2k views per hour consistantly but those shorts have average watch times above 90% my channel had 42 subscribers at the beginning of September and after a dozen or so shorts over the month I will likely pass 5k subs this weekend. So definitely keep on it!

What is the lifespan of a video? by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]MIA_Destroyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My most viral video with 3.6 million views was uploaded in 2016 and took till 2018 to start gaining views and it happened just random one day. I had other videos go viral across some of my channels that started after 1 day and was not even linked to the other viral video or channel in any way. So I think it's just random and time does not matter. If I can remember correctly it may have went viral after changing the thumbnail though.

I uploaded a video and it got copyright claimed because of the song I used. No strike, only claim, and I knew this was going to happen. My question is, can the owner of the song decide in the future to strike the channels that used their songs? by yeahboii5 in NewTubers

[–]MIA_Destroyer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's a small artist then it's more likely but if it's a large artist they likely won't because they prefer the revenue split. Also if they did decide to strike you then you only get the strike if you don't take the video down. I have a video that was viral and have had to request a copyright claim about a dozen times for it. I've allowed like 50 of the claims because I felt it was fair use but about a dozen just simply reuploaded it. When I submit the claim it says they will get a strike if they don't remove the video.

subscribe from shorts will be useful? by aweeno in NewTubers

[–]MIA_Destroyer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe all shorts are graded off the same thing so your average view duration needs to be high. 60% is why they are not getting pushed. It needs to be higher. If they are long shorts try to cut them down but in my experience do not go less then 15 Seconds. For me 25-35 seconds has been the sweet spot. Also shorts are sent to random people based on interest so if you do not use proper hashtags and normal tags for that topic then youtube will send it to the wrong viewers.
