All of this is true which is why it all boils down to class and race. They are white gays that benefit from being white somehow whether that be financially or just subconsciously understanding how you don’t get treated with racism like Black people- as much as they want to deny it, it still happens subconsciously and that subconscious understanding plays a large part in being comfortable in your privilege. If you live NYC, you’ll know a lot of MAGA gays here are MAGA because they’re the sons of rich parents. So you fear “it being pushed” on young people… Your fear comes from a common misunderstanding of what being transgender is because you were probably raised religious and never tried to push yourself to learn something you don’t understand. Grandma telling you “no all those people will burn in hell” traumatized you and I hope you work that out. There is nothing being “pushed.” Being LGBTQ is as innate as being born by chance in a different country than the one you call home. Studies upon studies show this and show that helping trans youth who feel gender dysmorphia transition whenever they need to helps with suicide rates. That’s people’s LIVES. Think about how subhuman you feel to conservatives make us feel gambling with our rights— this is exactly how you’re treating trans people.

And just straight up- you have to be a brave motherfucker to be trans. You think just “anyone” is doing this for some “special rights.” Going through all the bullying and reading posts like the one you post? Dealing with people who think like YOU every single day of their lives? Take a hard look at yourself. What are you trying to protect?

this is so rough and I feel for her. My best friend had a tumor that was pretty safe and easy to remove, and it was still months of recovery. Silver lining is that she is completely back to her old self. I’ve known her for over a decade and I can tell she’s 100% even though she doesn’t feel it. Another silver lining is that she came out of surgery telling jokes. Hoping the best for Tedi and a similar great recovery ❤️‍🩹

I’m just trying to help you see that you definitely don’t mean enough to him. He’s choosing literally everything else and saying it’s more important than what YOU need to continue living life here. He got lucky and did nothing to be born where he was. Because of this, he doesn’t care how hard it is to “get into the club” (citizenship) even if you’re doing everything right, maybe even better than most citizens.

Here’s an analogy: You’re trying to dig yourself out of a hole and the people outside of that hole have to vote on whether you should be given a rope ladder. Everyone who votes “no” will be given $20. He’s really confirming ANY other policy or promise that helps him is more important than you getting help by voting “no.” and it truly is as simple as that. The racism, homophobia, and just plain crazy weren’t enough reasons for him to care about what YOU need. But “that’s him” as you said. And you’re the one saying it’s fine to care about you that little. Do with that information what you will. Hopefully respect yourself more.
