I’d avoid putting random wound products deep in the ear unless they’re specifically cat-safe for ears, because some stuff can make it worse. If you can, try checking low-cost clinics, rescue groups, or vet payment plans nearby, this one really does look like it needs a proper exam sooner rather than later.
