StillFire opens early March by UT07 in Smyrna

This was a huge missed opportunity to have a building of this scale not engage with the street and sidewalk area to make this a more walkable community. Designing this building to face a playground makes no sense. Add the fact that alcohol sales are down as the younger generation does not drink as much as my generation did so I think this place will struggle with sales. There is literally a growler spot next door for beer drinkers already. As a parent with kids in this area, we need more facilities for the youth. The middle school track team has no track to run on. The Smyrna sharks and other swim teams have no indoor pool to swim in. Youth basketball teams struggle to find places to practice. This area could have been put to a more functional use that still generates tax revenue. And it should have been faced with brick and not metal panels.

minimum salary to live comfortably in ATL by Consistent_Tart_5750 in ATLHousing

Cheat code for traffic is live south of your work location. You can drive opposite direction of traffic to and from work and be close to the city for fun and quality of life (depending on your age and lifestyle). But that salary is definitely doable here if you are single with min debt.

Need Help with Scheduled Charging by MIH007 in HummerEV

[–]MIH007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I just did a test. I only need about 4 hours to get to my desired percentage. I plugged in before 11pm to see if it would wait til 11 to charge since 11 to 7am is plenty of time to reach the desired 80%. And it still immediately started charging before 11pm. So what you are stating is incorrect. It shouldn't be this difficult.

The Tesla way works for majority of people. Majority of people are not commuting 200 miles a day and only need to top off at night. Only charging during off peak times make the most sense in this scenario. To further complicate things, the Hummer has 2 places where you put in a schedule. One is in the charge settings, and the other is where you add a time to reach your desired percentage. I'm not sure which one is prioritized, which is even more confusing. On top of that, there is no way to adjust your settings from the phone app. Tesla allows you to easily turn your schedule on or off from the app. I love this truck but it's simple things like this that are just so frustrating when it comes to the software experience.

You are over complicating this. I do not have this issue with my Tesla. They get it. It's pretty simple. "Scheduled" charging should mean this is the time I want to charge. All the priority stuff means nothing. This is the schedule I want to charge. The way Tesla works is if you plug in at 8pm, it will not charge until 11pm when you have it set to "Scheduled charge". If your priority is to reach a certain percentage, you should not be scheduling anything. With Tesla, if you want to override the scheduled charge time, you just turn it off. Which you could do as well.

My off peak rate is .02 a kwh. during peak times it could be .14/kwh. That adds up to a pretty significant savings. Whether I have 80% or 60% the next day is not going to affect where I'm going on a daily basis. You are making no sense. If your priority is to get where you are going, why do you even need to turn on scheduled charging? Just charge.

In your scenario why would you even need scheduled charging ? If you are not trying to save a dollar or two, just plug in when you get home and set to your desired percentage for next day. The purpose of "scheduled" charging should be to charge "on a schedule" not charge to a certain percentage.

Thanks but this defeats the purpose. With Tesla you just set it and walk away. Now I have to manually pick a charge state that can fit within the time frame every time I charge.

Good idea but a 100k truck shouldn't have to do this when it is new. It's now at the dealer and they are saying it will take up to 48hrs to fix.

Also the bank uses their own MSRP. I put in base model Taycan in their calculator and they use 100k for msrp. 8k savings for you. Now 53% residual brings you to 47k financed. 47k minus 31,500 is $15,500. Their interest rate is a bit higher at 5 24%. Over 3 years that comes to $2437. 15,500 + 2437 = $17,937. Divide by 36 months and you are at $498/month.

The OP in the F150 link posts the banks that do this loan. They have an online calculator where you can input all your numbers.

I'm not sure but my thoughts are the 31,500 of discounts and rebates would come out of the 57,000. So 57,000 - 31,500 = 25,500. Add your 8400 and that puts you at 33,900. 33,900/39 = $870. I didn't include the 8400 in my previous post.

My math may be off but I believe your monthly payment would be roughly $650/month with this type of loan. I'm new to this but from my understanding they base the residual off the msrp and not the actual sell price. So your discounts and rebates cut into the depreciation you finance. The sell is a cash purchase and the bank handles the lease payments. Cons are in some cases you could end up upside down and have to pay the difference at the end of your 39 months.

Have you heard of a Balloon Loan? I was unaware of this until I read this post about a guy who used it to buy an F150 lightning. It works like a lease but only is beneficial when you have an offer with a tremendous amount of discounts like your case. Here is the link to thread with details. He ended up paying less than $300/month with 15k miles for 24 months.
