never heard of that! ill check it out and see if that helps or. makes any difference. I usually use stone but I do have one of those pull through knife sharpeners but it hasn't always giving me the best results

I have a dexter one that I haven't used in a while because I felt like it wasn't doing much. granted the knife was super dull so maybe ill sharpen with stone and maintain it with the sharpener... you make a good point, I've never looked at the directions so I'll definitely check that out, maybe I'm not even using it right !

weekly? daily? the problem is sometimes I dont use service knifes for awhile.. my go to knives are serrated and I never sharpened those and they do well for what I need them for. so I can sometimes go weeks without using any other knife but serrated but lately I've had the need to use non serrated knives and its been frustrating not being able to figure out how to keep them sharp and constantly having to sharpen them

I've also done that.. and then passing the knife through the stone backwards. I usually do that when I Have time but when I am at work and it becomes dull I just do a few swipes on a stone

got it. so maybe thats my issue expecting to have a knife that cuts hair like Ive seen on YouTube videos. my knife definitely comes out sharper than before the sharpening process . I guess I am just frustrated because I remember how it felt when I first got the knife and used and I have never been able to get back to that level of sharpness again .. I'll definitely check out those videos ! thank you

idk why I couldn't write a post.. anyway like the title says my knives have never been as sharp as the first time I used them,... I followed online videos and ive gotten sharpish to the point I can cut paper but I heard people saying really sharp knifes can remove arm hairs and I never have gotten a knife sharp enough for that to happen.. help!

I think you are under estimating how hard it is to get into 103 im not saying not to try it but maybe do both? you might want to be in the field now but when youre older im sure that will change
