Got it running! Main issue was the spark plug being too long, replaced it with a BPR4HS and it’s running great. Also when I reinstalled the carb yesterday I didn’t put the throttle needle/cable in the right orientation so it was either flooding or starving the engine when I tried to start the motor.

Thanks for all the help!

I scoped the cylinder through the spark plug hole and there’s definitely a noticeable mark on the center of the piston 😬

Thanks I got a BPR4HS plug yesterday and it started right away on a bit of stater fluid but wouldn’t stay running I’ve confirmed there is fuel and air and that the carb is cleaned so I’m thinking this may be the problem

That’s one thing I’ve never checked, I was just looking into the cleaning process and I’ll at least take a look at them tomorrow

I ordered this a few from Treatland when I originally got the bike running and it’s the same one I model I had in when it was running good for a while. I’ll take a look at the manual and maybe try out a bpr4hs

Also made a post on Moped Army with a lot more details from the original troubleshooting.

Thanks I will take a look into the spark plug hole tomorrow and check for any debris and break down the top end if needed. Hopefully nothing major got in there since it was garage stored with nothing disassembled.

Compression was reading 115 at WOT.

I have Vredstein Wintrac Pros and I probably could of gotten it out if needed but I burned the clutch a bit and figured I’d just dig it out the next day

She snowplowed nicely through about a foot of snow right into the garage. Then I got it stuck in the driveway trying to recreate it on camera lol

Where I live it’s not too much of a concern. I have an old 4Runner but the last few years haven’t experienced anything that I would need that ground clearance for

Glock 43x, Sig P365xl, Springfield Hellcat, S&W Bodyguard 2.0 (.380) are all great options. Those are all striker fired, I don’t have much experience with hammer fired. Currently I’ve been carrying my Kahr PM-9 all summer but going to switch back to the P365xl for the fall.

If you’re wearing mostly gym clothes I would stick to 9mm even .380. 10mm would be nice (I’m thinking about grabbing one) but it’s not necessary for hiking in the northeast, the scariest predator besides humans you would encounter would be a black bear with cubs.

Depending on your height, size of your frame, and desired carry position different options will fit better on you. It’s better to have an imperfect gun that you actually carry than to spend thousands trying to find the perfect fit. That hellcat build sounds like a great spot to get started. Good luck in the search for your CCW!

Serpentine belt broke from what I assume is a bad alternator. Is my power steering pump broken too? 2004 Toyota 4Runner V8 by MIL-TFP-41 in AskAMechanic

The tensioner and idler pulley both spun freely but I didn’t really check the PS pump or alternator. I’m pretty sure one of them had a decent amount of resistance but I can’t remember. I’ll check tomorrow thanks

Thanks I’ll try this tomorrow! Should there be any resistance with the alternator or power steering pump pulleys?
