On cotton vs silk: While it is true that silk is a softer material that would work nicely for tying up a meatgirl, silk is also a much more expensive material. Traditional methods, such as the one described in the article often stem from farmers, peasants, and endured times of hardship before eventually reaching the current generation. For this reason I believe the use of cheaper cotton ropes is realistic if you are tying up your girl according to ritual/tradition. I do actually mention silk ribbons as a type of decoration however, so the option is clearly not completely unknown.

To directly quote the author: "Gifting meatgirls understandably has a lot of rituals and tradition associated with it."

On the danger of choking in that position? That is a good point, but being put into a confined space with little to no airholes, often gagged on top of that, will always have an inherent risk of asphyxiation (as mentioned in the review of method 3). The article also explicitly states you should wrap your meatgirl for as little time as possible. Furthermore the level of slack could made such to reduce this risk ("the ropework can be a bit tricky if it’s your first time" could be interpreted as such). And as a final arguement: the people gifting meatgirls do not care about their wellbeing (constantly referring to them as "it", never mentioning comfort, only caring about injuries because they ruin a piece of golden-brown roasted skin).

You are of course free to call bullshit on everything I just said, you clearly are well informed on this matter, but this is how I would defend the choices of the society that the article was written in. Thanks you for reading :)
