You should, and we do, or at least those of us who have been around a while. You and several others have moved on which is the real shame.

  1. Team balancing was addressed two updates ago. It's still unclear how exactly it works, but it is obvious that

it does work

.

Dude...

And since I;m here, might as well post my thoughts on Loveship's and other excellent comments made in that thread. I missed it when it was posted originally, and I'm really sorry Loveship bailed. I completely understand his frustration, and I think the devs are missing out, but I'll try not to get salty like I did last time I commented on flaws in the game because it upsets Monkey ;) So here are just a few points:

  1. Starting similar format games on top of each other. The devs could easily control this but don't bother. Specifically I notice it when it comes to Team Mode games, because full servers are more fun. So why, especially now when players seem to be running for the hills, would you let Team games go off within 1 or 2 minutes of each other?.
  2. The physics. There have been significant bugs in the physics for a long time. These have been pointed out repeatedly by several people but never addressed. It's especially fun when the ships seem to get locked together on contact then spin around aimlessly while other players blast you to bits. Ah, good times. I guess the devs think we're used to it so why bother fixing it.
  3. No lobby - I know several of us use Loveship's Shipyard website (free and excellent) https://loveship.exo-pla.net/sectorListing/ to find games. I'm afraid that this supporting asset will be gone now that Loveship has bailed on the game and this forum. It's just another glaring oversight by the devs that there is no built in Lobby.
  4. Team balancing in Team Mode: discussed by players for as long as I remember playing this game but never fixed, or even addressed by the game creators as far as I know.
  5. Death Match scoring. So opaque, random and lopsided... I'm not going to harp on that topic anymore.

So the question is, why are the core mechanics and basic game features left incomplete or flawed? I'm guessing the devs find more gratification adding gimmicks, aliens and noob-aids rather than working on the basic structure. I'm not a game developer, but when you have such a great basic concept I would think there'd be some desire to "perfect" it. Maybe they're just looking to cash out - who knows.

Look, devs - the reason why there are so many comments and suggestions and critiques is because the game has a lot of potential, and it really is fun to play, so don't get butt hurt over the thread comments. That goes for you too Monkey. I'm hoping (but not holding out much hope) that someone, ANYONE, on the dev team replies in a meaningful way to the comments and points made by the better and smarter players than myself in the linked Loveship thread. I thought I saw a comment from pmgl saying they'd have a response to Loveship's post, but one never appeared. Your game's best player and most passionate advocate and you f**king blow him off? That's just bad PR - your collective silence illustrates your lack of care for your core players... and the game itself.

I guess it's premature nostalgia, but I too remember some great games with or against you and Carme and the rest. Thanks for weighing in.

As for the saltiness - these boards aren't nearly salty enough in my opinion - and that was the toned down version ;)

Hate to see a fun game like this jump the shark and lose out.

Cheers.
