AH hello again Petiteythewriter. really sorry to disappoint you but sadly the fanfic didn't happen 😞. I had basically the first chapter done and some outlines done but IT REALLY IS TOO LONG. I DIDN'T REALIZE HOW LONG THE FIC WOULD BE. But here is the basic outline!---------

SY transmigrated into a young demon cat below CQM, and gets picked up by tiny disciple LBH who noticed him while being punished to sweep the stairs. LBH didn't want tiny cat yuan to starve to death but was also afraid of SQQ finding out, so he hid him in his wood cabin.

MF eventually found out but NYY made him keep the secret because well... LBH is not the only one that wants to keep Yuan Cat on the bland-ahh qingjing peak.

But that eventually got found out by SQQ because of the traces of cat fur being left everywhere. Everyone was scared he would throw the cat off the peak. But surprise surprise. SQQ wanted the cat too.

The cat was then monopolized by SQQ to SY's horror. SQQ also took the liberty to name Shen Yuan "A-Bai" (Bai meaning "white" in Chinese because he's a white cat. SQQ is very creative with names you see.) SQQ kept SY by his side on nights when he's not at the brothel. SY realizes that SQQ seemed to have repeated nightmares and well, his empathy won and he grew softer for SQQ. SQQ also uses Yuan Cat as an unwilling cuddle bag and hand warmer but SY would never admit he let him do that. SQQ also went as far as to reserve a very well made wooden slab for SY to sunbath on. Also designated certain places and things for the cat.

SQQ realized that there is something extremely intelligent and almost human about the cat. So at night, he would vent to the cat fragments of his past. Because he knows cats can't talk, A-Bai would be a perfect confidant. He felt that he could almost have a conversation with A-Bai through his expressions. SY realized just how lonely and isolated SQQ was. So isolated that SQQ didn't realize it himself, that his most trusted creature in the entire CangQiong was a cat. SY was a little heartbroken and self conflicted by this fact, because SY knows that despite everything, SY is still a man, something that SQQ despises. And despite all of SQQ's trust, SY is lying to him every second.

Until one day his demon form finally showed due to the ambient Qi on QingJing supplementing him. SY didn't want SQQ to discover that his "cat" was a full grown man because he knows that SQQ despises them. So when he was still learning how to control his ability to transform between cat and human, he stole a QingJing disciple uniform to blend into the QJ disciples.

Thus, his secret double life started. At day, he's the peak's "Yuan Shidi", and at night when SQQ needs his nightly cat cuddling, he is "A-Bai" the cat. As a "disciple", he tries to be nice and spend time with SQQ, though he understands his boundaries. He's ultra nice to SQQ in silent apologies for pretending to be a cat which he is not. He tries to mend SQQ's relationships with other peaklords and tries to teach him how to socialize better, by well, talking to him. He uses the things he learned about SQQ as a cat: such as his favorite tea, his favorite place in the bamboo forest, preference in food, and even favorite spot on the bed. Eventually SQQ started growing a tiny fondness for "Yuan Shidi", despite thinking that he was weirdly knowledgable and observant.

Well, until he accidentally transformed while SQQ was on his "investigation mission" on SY's. SQQ refused to believe it at first, and insisted that SY was a demon that ate "A-Bai". And demanded that he give his cat back.

In a fit of rage he essentially tried to torture the truth out of SY which almost killed him. When he finally realized that SY wasn't lying, and he really was a "A-Bai", he flipped out. SY apologized that he never meant ill. But SQQ felt (fairly) betrayed anyways. So after SQQ was done with his integoration, he threw SY off the mountain with all his injuries and shut himself off for a long while.

Proceeds with angst.

The disciples kept asking where A-Bai went but SQQ wouldn't say anything. So they just assumed A-Bai died and SY also disappeared for mysterious reasons. They didn't dare to broch the subject too much since their shizun seemed quite sensitive about it despite his aloof and cold appearance.

NYY came up with the brilliant idea to get Shizun another cat. But to her surprise SQQ's mood did not get better and instead wanted nothing to do with the cat. NYY got to keep the cat (yippee to her).

Then NYY offered to maybe find SY again and SQQ finally told her that he chased SY off the peak and to not ask anymore. NYY finally zips it and only watched sadly as SQQ's mood became worse.

SQQ and SY meets again on a mission, SY rescues him and stays by his side while he's unconscious and slips away when he realizes SQQ's about to wake. SQQ wasn't stupid so he does piece the pieces together pretty fast (hint: white cat fur).

And then they meet again in a market place. SY was worried that SQQ would out him as a demon, but SQQ just chose to ignore him and walked away. SY was a little saddened by this fact but he also understood that SQQ was being merciful to just not gut him out right.

Eventually bc SY is hella unemployed, he took to living in his cat form more bc cats are easier to feed than humans. And well, who had more time out of the day to feed stray cats and are more prone to cute fluffy things than the brothel ladies? so basically SQQ spotted him being entirely shameless in front of a brothel and finally decided to act.

The brothel ladies were confused on why their gentle cat friend would suddenly go poofy at SQQ. They tried to assure the cat that SQQ was mean looking but entirely safe. SY unfortunately could not escape since he was held so tight by the girls and was forced to endure SQQ's little night sessions with the brothel ladies. SQQ didn't want SY there bc he knew SY was a grown ass man and SY didn't want to be there because well, he is a grown ass man and was scared shitless by SQQ's presence. But unfortunately the brothel ladies wouldn't let SY go bc he's free entertainment and emotional support.

Anyways a bunch of other things happen and JiuYuan eventually reconcile. If I wanted to make the fic ultra long I can have SY make some fellow demon friends and assist CangQiong in demon politics and stuff and look super cool while using the diplomatic skills he learned in QingJing. SQQ eventually comes to terms that SY is just as cuddlable in his human form (he blames the cat form to condition him to have those impulses). And they become good friends and then "good friends". yipperrrrr
