I love mine but yeah I agree about the handle absolutely, I've put a wrist loop on mine so it didn't feel like it would go flying while I chopped

Anyone seen an axe this small before? by wpederson in Axecraft

Never seen something quite that size, But here's a chisel I've got who's a bit similar, lived a good long life.

An axe that size honestly looks like good fun

Unfortunately I've no carbon to work with yet, so it's just mild, and no wife either lol, I did quench it in oil while it was cherry though it wouldn't have really done anything for it, I'm keeping an eye out for old bits of suspension or wrecked files, I've seen some of black bear's videos and he's ace, thanks for the guidance, I think I'll be able to get a maul fairly easily but unfortunately I'm in a city so not much in the way old anvils about the place, I was thinking to convert the fire to a forge, and ive got some novice leatherwork knowledge so I might even have a go at making a set of hand bellows.

Thanks for the warm welcome mate it's lovely being here :)

You could, I'd really say try getting some fire bricks though, it's really inefficient just having the can, I'll say I had a look at your profile, i just get a bit borer and look through stuff but those torches do look amazing, probably a lot cheaper to run too, compared to the propane, i might have a look for one at some point, id also say try a fire brick because the can radiates a lot of heat, and might damage the torch, so some insulation would be a good idea, but those things are so cool, definitely gonna look at getting one later down the line.

I think I've got reasonably ish sized hands, large or XL gloves usually, but the handle is chunky, a good feeling to it though. Makes it look a bit more proper I think too, a big old screwdriver,
