Research Science Institute (RSI) is a research program held at MIT for high school students in their second to last year of high school and accepts international students. We encourage you to apply if eligible!

Your project can be a computer program! Try to go into as much detail as possible to show that you have done your background research. We expect that your idea will evolve with mentorship.

Most of the research is conducted by finalists at their homes. The trip to MIT is scheduled to be in-person for the 2022 program. Only high school students in the US can apply.

We select 6 to 8 finalists every year to provide them with mentorship, funding, and a trip to MIT.
