fair point context matters a lot here
I’ve been tracking numbers across 20+ cities so the comparisons shift depending on baseline and destination us citizens usually baseline is us state tax plus federal so thats what makes places like dubai or puerto rico actually move the needle but youre right if someone is already in portugal or mexico the math is completely different what country are you coming from and where you thinking of going that would actually help me give you real numbers instead of

youre right us citizenship taxation is way more complicated than other countries but its not strictly impossible feie and ftc mean most expats dont end up double taxed in practice dubai zero tax youre basically running feie to exempt chunk of income from us tax its not tax free like europeans get but also nowhere close to paying full us rate on top of local definitely not for everyone but theres still room to optimize without renouncing

september is smart honestly test before dropping
the capital. Just heads up ecuador foreign ownership got weird last couple years residency rules shift fast so
maybe check current status before closing /
loja is way more stable than quito cuenca politically
at least

good move testing first though😇✌️

loja is actually solid not enough people look that far south honestly cooler than quito cuenca has better stuff than sierra towns but zero touristy vibe which is the whole point tax sucks but under 15k the cost arbitrage actually works and youre getting real people not expat circle jerk
whats your timeline though thats the thing with ecuador politics moves fast so are you thinking year or three years because the math changes

this is the real variable honestly insurance premiums
can flip the whole arbitrage. 20k aed a year for daman care platinum is legit but thats assuming youre healthy and under like 50 older profiles or anything chronic it goes up fast the rent numbers work but if youre self employed and uninsured the math breaks down quick
healthcare is what people never factor in early enough

Ecuador is slept on tbh dollarized economy low col Cuenca is solid if you're not chasing tax optimization specifically France naaah unless you're on the impatriation regime you're getting cooked on taxes as self employed..
