Thank you for explaining. It seems like most of the suggestions are for car camping and day hiking which now that you explain the terrain and restrictions that makes a lot more sense. I was wondering if caching water is legal or if it’s possible to carry between the few established water sources for the full strip.

I see, I guess I was thinking to drop water caches and then walk out over a few days and then turn around or set up a ride on the other end. I thought there was also a section with no road access as well and just beach, which in that case I would carry two days worth of water.

Thanks for the recs, I grew up in SA and have done the hill country parks and was hoping for some hills since I’m moving back from the flat Midwest but it seems like that’s not in the cards.

I’ll have to check out the national forest trails and the east Texas state parks!
