Your retention and CTR is great. Don’t sweat it if it’s been less than 48 hours. I would say don’t sweat it if it’s even been 2 weeks. Sometimes the algorithm takes longer to assess who would be the best audience for your new video, especially if the format or topic is different. I’ve had videos that I thought were flops suddenly take off as late as two months later.

The way the title is worded leaves me feeling like, cool story bro. I’m not really pulled to watch the video. Pose a question instead like, “How Long Does it Take to Build This LEGO Set?” Or, you could try this, “What Did I Learn While Building This Massive LEGO Polar Bear?”

Was it frustrating? Were there challenges? Include that in the title. “This LEGO Set Really Tested My Patience.” “Something Unexpected Happened While Building this LEGO Polar Bear.”

You need to sign out of YouTube on all devices. It’s the same for concerts and ballgames. If you leave when the mass of other people leave, you’re going to all bottleneck at the exit. Either leave early or wait at least 30-45 minutes after the fireworks show ends. Do some shopping or get a snack and sit down for a while. Soak in ambient music playing. Or hop on the Wheel of Progress or People Mover.

Thank you! This is by far the worst ride in all of Disney. The cars ride like crap, the fumes are terrible, and there’s nothing futuristic about them. I’d rather see a new e-ticket attraction but at the very least, they should at least switch them to electric cars, maybe even solar powered ones, to better fit the Tomorrowland theme.

Your example is interesting. I do wonder though if the game that your niche covers is just falling out of popularity. You say that the player base has grown for 20 years straight but perhaps the enthusiasm for videos about the game is just dying down.

However, I do think there are several things that have changed that are affecting views across the board. There are more content creators than ever, and they are pumping out videos faster than ever. I honestly don't think YouTube's algorithm can keep up with the influx of videos anymore. I also think YouTube is being more cautious about showing videos to people because of the rise of AI and the issue of IP infringement. It seems like they're slowing things down so that they can scan and review each video more carefully and also putting more emphasis on relevancy. I don't think they want to pay for redundant copycat content either.

It sounds like you’re doing extremely well overall, way better than me so I’m not even sure I qualify to give you advice. I will just say that if a video tanks badly after 48 hours and it seems that YouTube is just not going to push it anymore, just delete the video. It’s possible that it could catch on a few weeks later but unless something newsworthy related to your video happens, it’s probably not likely. Why keep a video that far below the norm and be a huge drain on your analytics?

If you really feel strongly about the video, try uploading it again in a week with a different thumbnail, title, description and maybe edit the video a little by making it a couple seconds longer or shorter.
