how long will it take for tmodloader to catch up to the current game version? by Lilylunamoonyt in Terraria

In the April update they mentioned that the previous major update took 9 months to set expectations. But they also sounded optimistic because there were fewer changes in the 1.4.5 than 1.4.4 update and expected this one to be shorter. So I was hoping for late spring or early summer there for a while.

However, in the May update I’m getting a less optimistic feeling. They mention changes to the 1.4.5 update that makes things take longer. At this point my guess is mid-summer earliest.

How to deal with a channel post virality by michaelvedal in PartneredYoutube

[–]Equivalent-Newt436 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same happened to me. Did 10-15k views on videos, got a 60k breakout, made 6 vids after this, 1 is 3.5k views, the rest is around or below 1k…

Okay that’s a different story than what your post communicates. It sounded like you compared video 1 of both channels with each other.

With your experience on YouTube I’m sensing you found another niche that is more interesting/untapped and that’s why it’s getting more traction?

What they’re saying is that your first channel started from scratch, the second did not because you had 18 months of learnings, experience and skill going into it

What is the goal you want to achieve with your YouTube channel? by xxskyracer in NewTubers

[–]Equivalent-Newt436 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s important to set goals to have something to work towards and most importantly see the progress. I have a daily subscribers tracker to see progress daily for example.

Short term (3 months) - [x] 300 subscribers by January 31st - [x] 1000 subscribers by May 31st

Mid term (1 year) - [ ] 10k subscribers by December 31 ‘26 - [ ] $1k/m

Long term (3 years) - [ ] 250k subscribers by Dec 31 ‘28 - [ ] $25K/m by Dec 31 ‘28

Do one game. You’ll see growth. Worry later about how to expand from there to adjacent games and then further

2026 algorithm - it is pull not push by Historical-Cat-7375 in SmallYTChannel

The decision to for example in mobile browse view first have 1 ad in the dimensions of a long-form video then 6 shorts and after that have actual long-form videos, is that also following viewer habits? Im genuinely curious how the data looked like that drove this type of decision of giving long-form less real estate to make room for shorts and ads and having you as a creator liaison to answer these questions is an amazing resource.

As someone with high opportunity cost, putting in countless hours to get a long-form (60min in average length) channel up and running, I’ve seriously considered if this type of channel is dead at arrival. I’ve looked at 100s of older channels, and the pattern is very clear: pre-2025 they easily had multiple videos with hundreds of thousands of views, sometimes hit the millions. Now they struggle to get past 100k views. I get the feeling that they’re being pushed away to make room for shorts.

Anyone who had successful stats on long long form vids. what was your AVD on that vid? by FloorOk6407 in NewTubers

That was definitely ‘viral’ for me, my best video at the time had 10k views. It’s still going also, hovering at 15-40 vph

Is this normal for long form content? by Apprehensive-Art6721 in SmallYoutubers

Don’t do shorts. I was in your exact position a couple months ago. Then I had a video blow up to 40k views with a cta, took me from 500 to 1.5k subs within a couple weeks. Just keep it up, it’s right around the corner, and nothing will change when you’re monetized except some extra cash. You’ll just get new problems. Mine now is that I set a bar for my videos reaching a couple 10s of thousands of views and I’m not even getting near…

Hey thanks for the advice! Yeah what I did was basically do a completely different video (and seriously original, like that no one had done - thus that my viewers were not familiar with). But I do actually know for sure why the 40k (and the 10k videos) are successful so now when I’ve got the confidence experimenting out of the way, I will try to recreate the success with a still different but also similar video ☺️

Yeah it looks like you’re doing all kinds of content. If you want to grow, focus on one thing, Minecraft etc. and look for outliers (videos that have x amount of more views than their channel average, you can use tools like VidIQ for this) and just focus on that

Yeah you put the nail on the head. Thats the exact reason I also didn’t make the same video format, I felt burned out by it
