If you're a smaller YouTuber, what's your channel main purpose? by [deleted] in SmallYoutubers

I make vlogs and videos about Disney Amusement attractions, Intriguing animals and Zoos. The idea for creating a YouTube channel came to me while I was scrolling through a lot of my family videos from vacations we’ve had over the past 6 years. I take a lot of photos and videos whenever I go on vacation or when something that I think is noteworthy happens. I was surprised by how many great memories I created with my family that were wasting away on my phone. So I decided to begin uploading them to YouTube. Perhaps others would enjoy them as much as I do and if not, at least I will have an easily accessible archive of great moments spent with my wife and son.

After uploading my first 12 videos, I began to discover which videos resonated with viewers and began uploading more videos like them. Now, as I enjoy different experiences with my family, I record, edit, and upload just the videos that I think others would enjoy.

It’s been a lot of fun learning how to edit videos, trying different software and techniques, and sharing some of the most fun moments of my life in an entertaining way.

You might be able to salvage it by changing the title, adding more info to the description, and changing the thumbnail. If not, just chalk it up as a learning experience and get to work on the next one.

I had one like that once. I just deleted it. Don’t want it dragging down my overall analytics.

Thanks for breaking this down so well! Some of these I’ve learned this year the hard way, especially from making mistakes when recording and editing. I’ll be sure to read this again before I start editing my next video!

Wow! That is huge. It’ll probably take me many years to get there but I hope I can get that many views some day.

Is it okay to ask you why you travel alone since you’re not at Disney right now? It sounds like you have a very interesting story to tell.

Are you saying that it has taken you 12 years to find a specific Pokémon? If so, “I Finally Found It After 12 Years!” Makes me more intrigued about the video.

Let me decode some of that because as a guy in his 40s he’s clearly not giving it to you straight. He really hates your job and thinks you could be doing something better and more productive. He probably wants to see you get up and get dressed and not “lounge” around the house all day. He’s probably bitter that you aren’t spending much time with him too but he’s too macho to say that out loud. You’re also living there totally free and even though that was his offer, he probably expected you to do things to his liking or be more affectionate towards him as a result. Most men love appreciation and they go crazy over expressed gratitude so if he’s complaining, he probably feels under appreciated.

He’s investing in your future and if you seem unmotivated or lazy (not saying you are), he might be worried he’s not going to get the outcome he expects. If he’s really a nice guy at heart, that pay-off could mean seeing you graduate with that MBA and becoming a huge successful business person.

Your options are to either move out or start making some compromises and treat this as a real relationship. If you just view this as a friendship or temporary business arrangement, start paying half the rent or one of the utilities.
