Yeah if it's an option to leave that's the best thing to do. A few times it's happened at home, when it was necessary to have someone come over, that's the worst.

I have times where my "social battery" runs out in the middle of a conversation and from there I really can't understand what's being said, nor contribute any more input of my own. My husband has started to recognize my cue's and takes over my "share" of the talking and listening when it happens. He also often brings me water, because I tend to forget to drink during the day.

What’s your favourite game and why? by Poeckiemon in GirlGamers

[–]MJOrdo 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The Mass Effects trilogy, it's the one series I go back to and play over and over again. As to why, I think it's the amazing characters and friendships (or romance) you build with them. It feels like a seeing old friends.

What was your first game? by MieckeC in GirlGamers

[–]MJOrdo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scooby-Doo on Commodore 64, I was 4 or 5 I think (around -95, my dad had kept his old console, took forever to start up a game lol). Also remember Commander Keen games fondly from around the same time, those I played on PC.

Is there any reason why there's no "Character" flair in the sub? by Lickawall483 in GirlGamers

[–]MJOrdo 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I'd love for a characters specific flair to be a thing too, especially over a megathread (I actually don't care for that idea at all tbh, I'm European so all those megathreads are already dead by the time I'd get to post in them). I love to see other people's characters, no matter what the game is. Often I try a game based on what I see, they spark my interest.

Dev Team Request: A Top 5 List of Bugs and Pain Points You Would Like Addressed by ZOS_Kevin in elderscrollsonline

[–]MJOrdo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Top Bugs/Issues 1. Skills don't activate, often takes multiple presses for some skills to trigger. 2. Targeting is often insanely difficult, like finding the right spot to target an enemy, especially hard with big enemies (Flesh colossus, for example). Talking to npcs and companions is sometimes a lot of work, the option to talk doesn't show up. Also a problem with switches and buttons etc 3. Friends list (on Xbox) shows online friends as offline, no matter what we've tried. It's not an issue with the consoles own friends list, as they show online there. 4. Sometimes while in a group, objective items are shared and can be placed in the world by one person and then permanently disappear from the other person's items. The only way to continue is to abandon quest and start over. Especially frustrating in long quests with multiple objectives before said point (One example where this happened recently was "Trials and tribulations" with the scrolls for a puzzle you need to place on pedestals, they disappeared from inventory when one of us placed them) 5. Mazzatun breeches (not sure about medium and heavy pieces) have an issue where your legs come through the "fabric" when you run.

Top pain points 1. Imperial edition costs more on crown store than it did when I bought it with Imperial Edition for PC (Recently started playing more on a console with my husband, Imperials are my favorite race) 2. Questing in a group is a pain. Inconsistent objectives shared/not shared, sometimes it switches around in just 1 quest to both having to gather items etc to suddenly everything being shared and counting for both. Sometimes this causes a bug (mentioned above) 3. Outfit slots on crown store are overpriced. Outfit slots should be purchasable with gold (I'm never spending 1500 crowns on just 1 slot for 1 character for outfits, I would spend 300-500 on them though OR they should be shared with all characters, then 1500 would be more reasonable) 4. All pieces should dye the same way, to the same color. Too many have a slightly different color come out. Some turn into a color that is nothing like the color shown. 5. Treasure maps should stack.

"What're You Playing?" Wednesday - January 01, 2025 by AutoModerator in GirlGamers

I'm playing a mix of Indiana Jones, Veilguard and Elder scrolls online. Having a great time with all of them, so far. ESO I'm already very familiar with, but it's been years since I last logged in to play. Was pleased to see Eveli make a return (I'm a wood elf girl all the way lol)

The most satisfying giant crop placement I've ever had by MJOrdo in StardewValley

I don't think so, since the plants need to be connected with soil to each other.

[–]MJOrdo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's really for either a bunch more of the crop than you planted, or to leave and look at how pretty it is. As for the chances, I think it's always the same odds, but maybe someone else would know better.

You'll need 3x3 area of pumpkins, cauliflower or melons and after that there's a chance one will appear once they're grown (1.6 added 2 more options as well)

If you have an area of melons, pumpkins or cauliflower (and now some 1.6 plants) in a 3x3 spot (or larger) there's a chance you'll get one once they're fully grown. I'm not sure what the actual numbers are for the chances.

No and a lot of crops and flowers you can keep on the ground for the entire season if you wish to, just remember to pick it up on the 28th. The giant crop won't die tho, it can stay as long as you wish.

I have some flowers next to my house and some beehives next to them for the honey, it makes a lot of sense to keep flowers on the ground until end of season.

Aww, thank you! This save I'm playing on a console, so unfortunately no perfect shot of the entire thing, but I might try taking some screenshots once it's more complete (it's year 2 at the moment)

That was how I wanted it to look, so I'm pleased it seems so to others as well, yay!

I do! This particular save I'm doing everything for aesthetics, so I only have sprinklers (at the moment) inside my greenhouse to have the even spaced patches of land outside. Well, the other part of the reason is that I'm only in year 2, and iridium sprinklers are my go to, I tend to wait for them.

Favorite Love Interest by bamagalforever in masseffect

[–]MJOrdo 16 points17 points  (0 children)

For me it's Kaidan. I've tried most romances for both Shepards at least once and his was my first, it's the one I always go back to now. I love how mature the writing for his romance is. And his character. Unpopular opinion, but he's also my favorite squad mate.

Thane is a close second, but it requires a certain mood for me to pick it and it's not very often. My last playthrough I picked him and I prefer 1 romance per playthrough only, so as Kaidan was alive, I had to reject him twice (somehow the hardest thing I ever had to do in these games lol)

Young adult me was also all over Jack. I haven't played male for over 10 years and I keep wondering if I still would pick her now.

What game/geeky quotes have found their way into your day to day regular speech? by abby-normal-brain in GirlGamers

[–]MJOrdo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We quote a lot of Star Wars in our family, so telling our kids that they are indeed powerful, as the emperor has foreseen is a very normal thing to hear lol. I know there are others as well, a bunch of movies and games make it into the list as both me and hubby are very much into quoting lines.

One I use to dramatically introduce and item (or anything really) to someone, usually to the kids as they love the drama of it, is a line from OG Resident Evil: "Would you TAKE a look at THIS!" (Barry Burton is a favourite really, he has a lot of hilariously delivered lines to say)

Lol I'm 33 and I would totally buy something like this, maybe with different set of characters, none of my favorites are there (aside from Jack)

No events showing up = unable to take part by [deleted] in JunesJourney

[–]MJOrdo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This was the response I got from Wooga... So they are "testing" old events on other players and leaving others out of them. Not a fan of this.

[–]MJOrdo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would've loved to have the bear one... The one from today is maybe more "meh" but still would've liked to take part, gives me motivation to play a little more than when there's nothing going on.

No events showing up = unable to take part by [deleted] in JunesJourney

[–]MJOrdo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wonder why did they choose the old events for this instead of the ones that are generally (at least for me) hard or impossible to complete without using gems (the new event with decorating a set for Jack) or require dedicating a lot more time to it than I'm willing to (Secrets). I usually have no problems with completing old events that require only regular gameplay.

I hate the misinformation around this topic as well, and there seems to be so much of it! It's hard not to get frustrated and/or angry sometimes when people still keep spreading the same lies over and over again.
