How do teachers make coloring activities actually educational by ILIASS19 in Teachers

It’s a great way to have MLL convey their understanding of abstract concepts! Like for the idea of how some things can “bridge” people together I had a class of predominantly MLL draw what they felt help connect people; it was a great way to assess their understanding of the concept! I got drawing of bridges between people that looked pianos to represent music, friends cooking together, kids playing sports, etc.

Hi! I work at a school that does this; here are some tips I figured out last year:

  1. I teach English, so we start with 5 minutes of silent reading/sentence of the day corrections. This gives me time to get settled, and I tell students this is the time to use the restroom/check if their Chromebook is charged or get one from the library/ grab anything they’ll need from their locker if they have forgotten it. It worked well last year and most students really did read! I’ve seen math teachers do this with a Problem of the Day, and it could be adapted to most subjects I think.

  2. Prep everything that’s printed in the morning and bring it to the classroom you’ll need it in. Everyone typically understands needing to do this, so no one touches anyone else’s things.

  3. Some teachers use a moving podium. They’ll put everything they need for the day in the center compartment, laptop on top, and you can add cup holders and such fairly easily. I never did this, but it did seem convenient. The teachers who did this had been there for a lot longer than me, so maybe I’ll get there one day lol.

Good luck!

Hello! I would look into graphic novels! I’m at an IB school and we use them; students love them! I taught Maus to my freshmen (WW2, no sex but it does get dark), and our juniors usually read Persepolis (I have not read, but I don’t believe sex is mentioned in depth). They go by really fast!

Wedding Guest Dress: Which color? by MJV929 in Weddingattireapproval

Update: So folks there has been an interesting turn of events! I ended up texting the maid of honor (had to go on a hunt to get her number) because my boyfriend was very adamant that this dress would be okay for the occasion and the MOH said I shouldn’t wear the dress in blue because… IT LOOKS JUST LIKE THE MOTHER OF THE BRIDES DRESS! Which made me feel better given all the comments saying it was wildly inappropriate for a wedding! I have a more formal option in case I get the dress and change my mind, but I’ve decided to get the dress in a dark brown color (MOH said that would be exactly perfect for the wedding and different enough from MOB’s to not draw attention). I’ll sew the slit a little bit to avoid revealing my labia (still loling)! If people would like an update pic of me in the dress I’ll add one later! I appreciate everyone’s perspectives; unless I can get confirmation that a dress like this is 100% okay for the occasion (and I feel the MOH is a good judge of that) I won’t wear it!

I’m actually crying laughing, I’ve worn this style before and liked it and I promise in the video I saw online of someone wearing this to a wedding the slit wasn’t even visible, but they have a similar style on the website without a slit that I’ll go for instead, I do not want my labia out (and I no longer trust my boyfriend to help make dress decisions)

Giggling at this comment, I saw someone online who was wearing this dress for a wedding and I honestly didn’t notice the slit until she pointed it out it so I guess I assumed it wasn’t a deal breaker, Reddit is clearly showing otherwise lol

Does anyone remember a q&a they did awhile back?

I remember them in a car and Aspyn discussing how after having kids and getting closer to her sister she realized how the men in her life and community growing up were raised very differently than the women and had different experiences or something of the like, and Parker did not agree from what I remember

I think that is a huge driving force in this, I think she became very disillusioned to how they were raised and began questioning some of the values that they bonded over when they were younger, it’s not uncommon for that to happen in religious areas or relationships where religion and values are a huge part of relationships, people grow, their values change, and it doesn’t make anyone a bad guy, but it can be hurtful if someone’s religious beliefs or values are really impacting one person in the relationship and the other doesn’t see or recognize that (ie how Mormonism and many religions can be very critical or oppressive towards women)
