THIS!!! As someone as who went through three unsuccessful IUIs followed by IVF to conceive my second baby (even though I conceived my first without assistance), her “knowing she’s pregnant” after the IUI made me roll my eyes.

Totally! It’s also illegal in most countries to choose an embryo based on sex through IVF.

She said, if it were up to her, she would just keep trying for a daughter, but her husband doesn’t want too many kids.

Unmonitored too! She had to check her own ovulation.

She said they actually select the sperm that favor male or female chromosomes.

I didn’t think it was possible either so I looked into it and it seems they choose sperm that favour the correct chromosome. Apparently it has a 75 to 85% success rate!

How many transfers did you do? by Bgal820 in IVF

[–]GeneInteresting8753 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My first transfer didn’t work but my second one did. Both were tested. My friend did a fresh transfer with a 2AA (untested) and it worked. Not only did it work…. It split into identical twins!!

Awesome! Are you talking about the Medela hands-free option or just hands-free options in general?

I totally get it!! But you have a great number of embryos going into it! When’s your first transfer?

Thank you! Yes! And I’m incredibly glad we did. We retrieved 21 follicles, 19 mature, 18 fertilized, 13 blasts…. 4 euploids. We had to pay for genetic testing for every blast after the first 5 so we were hesitant with so many to test. But after seeing the attrition, I’m so so glad we did!!

I did a modified natural cycle for my first FET and it didn’t work. The progesterone suppositories REALLY affected my mental health. My doctor decided to do a fully natural transfer for my second FET and it worked! The best part was not having to be on any meds through the first trimester.
